Fear of the LORD is the foundation of true knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline. [NLT] – Proverbs 1:7

From yesterday we learnt that NO MAN is WISE until He fears GOD, which is the principal part of wisdom and understanding. BUT if we choose to REJECT/DESPISE this WISDOM WE ARE no better than FOOLS. What is this wisdom the word of God speaks of so much? JESUS CHRIST is “THE WISDOM OF GOD”; and from the Gospel you gain the truths of wisdom, which are “the hidden wisdom” of God; and all the instruction / means that you will ever need to become wise before God J. I don’t know about you, but I know which one I would rather choose.

Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom. Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment. Wisdom will multiply your days and add years to your life. [NLT] – Proverbs 9:10-11
Fear is “awe and reverence of our Divine CREATOR”. You do this by being, joined with love to him, trust in him, and a desire to serve and worship him in a right manner. NO MAN is WISE until He fears GOD! Only when He begins to fear God CAN he become wise – FEAR OF GOD IS THE PRINCIPAL PART OF WISDOM. And when you do, you get the “Bonus” of Knowledge of HIM which results in good judgement. And not just good judgement, but you also get to live long! Why don’t you do the wise thing! You know it make sense.

I look up to the mountains—does my help come from there? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth! He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber. Indeed, he who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps. The Lord himself watches over you! The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade. The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon at night. The Lord keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever. [NLT] – Psalm 121:1-8

He is CONSTANTLY Keeping a watchful eye over you!! You better believe that! You are not alone.

Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: [ESV] – 1 Peter 4:8-10

Encourage and serve one another, the love you show for the person you don’t like so much, might actually make you end up liking the person J. But on a more serious note, God has given each and every one of us a gift; there is something you can do for your neighbour in their hour of need. A listening ear, an opened house to come whenever for food, a welcomed smile, it won’t cost you so much, to make another feel loved, cherished and important. Yes you may feel put out, but the benefit of bringing a sense of hope where hopelessness was thriving is a wonderful feeling. That gift of open heart that you’ve been given, it’s not just for you alone, use it to encourage, admonish and show love and appreciation to those around you. Spread the love J and you never know it might just make you popular J

How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!” [NIV] – Isaiah 52:7

If we are told that those who encourage one another in Christ [1 Thessalonians 5:11] are a welcomed sight, how much more do you think of those who only see the negative things in life. Encourage one another, and be positive to one another. You may not realise this, but if you make this your way of life, you will be welcomed anywhere you go :). And what is this good news of ours? OUR GOD REIGNS FOREVER and EVER and Indeed Jesus Christ is the Son of the living GOD!

Oh, that they would always have hearts like this, that they might fear me and obey all my commands! If they did, they and their descendants would prosper forever. [NLT] – Deuteronomy 5:29
God desires our welfare and salvation. We are not here alone, or “in it” alone. He has sent his Son to redeem us, promised HIS Spirit to those who pray For His presence, and has declared to us on more than one occasion that HE has no pleasure in our ruin. If you have the love of a loving Father who dots on you, then obeying the things he has asked you to do comes naturally. But for some reason not with our Heavenly Father. And the saddest thing is, obeying Him is not even for His benefit, it’s more so for ours. For us! Since obeying Him propels us to prosper in the things that we do. Let’s make up our mind today to pursue and obey the things that makes him happy, since ultimately it’s our happiness that is at stake, NOT HIS!
