The wise are mightier than the strong, and those with knowledge grow stronger and stronger. [NLT] – Proverbs 24:5

Now the strength we were talking about yesterday is not the physical one, but the strength that comes from being wise 🙂 Why? Because a wise person, by the mere fact he is wise increases his strength. They are full of strength, because, however feeble they are in body, they are wise in counsel, firm in purpose, brave in conduct, dependable, and supported by his perfect trust in God. So how’s that “strengthometer” of yours doing? You know by choosing to hold on, is a wise choice, which makes you stronger than your opponent 😉

If you fail under pressure, your strength is too small. [NLT] – Proverbs 24:10

You’re not a quitter or pushover as you or they may think, you’re stronger than you think. The adversities of life are there to test your “strengthometer” – if that is ever a word. Show that meter you are stronger than it can ever record. So you’ve been waiting on the Lord for one thing or the other, and it’s taken, 3, 5, 10 years and still counting, something so tangible that people can see that you/your family is lacking, and for that reason you’ve now become the title-tattle of the town, CHECK your “strengthometer” and make sure it’s reading “High”. Hold on, you are stronger than you think, and this trial will not be the ruin of you, but instead it will be the beginning of your story, your success story that’s been waiting to be birthed. The Lord is in control. He’s received the memo you know. Have faith in God. Yes yes, you’ve heard it all before. But keep holding on. You’ll realise you’ve held on for so long that the end is nearer in sight.

“If racing against mere men makes you tired, how will you race against horses? If you stumble and fall on open ground, what will you do in the thickets near the Jordan? [NLT] – Jeremiah 12:5
If you get frustrated or quit over inconsequential things that don’t matter that much, how much then would you be able to bear up when the true challenges of life arrives. When my 8 years old cousin who at the time came 3rd in his class with very high scores was told that my 3 yrs. old cousin was doing extremely well and was ranked top among her pre-school class, he said “well why shouldn’t she, when all they do is simple simple things” My point is, in every season of our lives, we will have challenges, regardless of our age/level/status; but don’t say mine is harder because of where I am, but know that it is an opportunity to propel you to your next level of achievement. Challenges come in different sizes and magnitude, make sure that whichever you may be facing, don’t let it overwhelm you. Stand your ground, and you will see it through with the Grace of God!

Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! [NLT] – 1 Corinthians 9:24

Know what you are working towards. LACK OF VISION / focus WILL NOT ONLY DERAIL YOUR JOURNEY, but IT WILL SABOTAGE IT TOO. And you know what; it won’t be anyone’s fault, but yours. Now I’m not telling you to be hard on yourself, and blame yourself for your lack of achievement, NO! What I’m saying is that by having an idea laid out in your mind and written down, you give yourself a fighting chance of succeeding, of wining the price, the fulfilment of your goals. EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE WITH GOD, don’t give up just yet.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. [NLT] – Hebrews 12:1

You’re not in a competition with anyone. You are in a competition with yourself. Your decisions today affect your course of life, not your neighbours, your friends or even your favourite pet. If you chose to give up now, you impact your life and your future. So don’t go saying, I’m doing this for my family, or for my neighbourhood, you are doing it for yourself, and ultimately, because of your success, your family / neighbours reap the benefits. The benefits, but your life, your journey, your future, will never remain the same again. Now get to it. The journeys still await you. You’ve barely started yet 🙂

Dream Big Con artists

ImagePursue your dreams. They will come through. Dream big; go in the way of your dreams. Oh shut up for goodness sake, whose dreams have come true? Tell me? My friend Kisha, had dreams of owning her very own retail company and all kinds of outlets just like Ms Mera, Serena was supposed to be Wales answer to Ms Vergara S, and Jon B, My mate Jon B was such a computer wiz in high school we could have sworn he would be bigger than our hommie Bill G. But where are they now. Where? Stuck in a runt, a 9 to 5 job, living from pay check to pay check just striving to survive and you’re up her blowing up my FB and twitter pages with illusions of success. Now stop it already. Why don’t you go on and dream big yourself.

A word is enough for the wise I tell you, if you’re wise you will stop all this nonsense about dream big and focus on the reality. I’ll let you in on a secret though, all this dream big “band wagons” are stories concocted by the successful people to deceive you. YES I tell you, what a wicked wicked deceit. You’re quietly happy getting along with your life and like walking into a door, they start hitting you with all kinds of motivational sturves. You then start getting all these ideas, of how you were born to be great, achieve success, that there is hope, that you must never give up, that you should look beyond where you are, that your future is paved with gold. Gold! GOLD! Did I hear them say Gold? If everyone in the world’s future was paved with gold, then gold will not have any value. Quote me anywhere! Gold will be valueless. So stop it already! Stop having a laugh at my expense.

No, I will not be sucked in by ideas created by the wealthy for the wealthy. I have decided to accept my life as it is, and carry on until I die like this. I came with nothing and so I go with nothing.

Deidre, Deidre, Deidre

O my goodness, is that my name someone is calling out for?

OK now stop it already!

Now who’s that person that’s going on as if the world owes them a living, or rather that God owes them a living. If you can’t see yourself being a success, then I think it’s best you keep that kind of thinking to yourself, because some of us want to be successful thank you 🙂 . Every success story always starts with a beginning. Even those born wealthy, must have had a generation before them who weren’t, and if they didn’t top up on the money themselves, they will soon know what it is to be without. [A little extra sleep, a little more slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest— then poverty will pounce on you like a bandit; scarcity will attack you like an armed robber. [NLT] Proverbs 24:33-34].

Even when we were in high school, if you didn’t believe you could ace through a class and worked towards making sure you passed your exams, you didn’t pass the exams. The same applies to the “Dream big theory”. If you didn’t believe that you would succeed, and worked hard towards that belief, in all honesty it won’t happen. And you can’t believe that you could do it, if you didn’t see yourself doing it. And you can’t only see it and believe it, you must work your way into making it a reality.

I will stand my watch And set myself on the rampart, And watch to see what He will say to me, And what I will answer when I am corrected. Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry. [NKJV] – Habakkuk 2:1-3

So you have a complaint and you’ve decided to speak about it to anyone that would listen, even the Lord told you the answer to that complaint in Habakkuk 2:2-3. WRITE out all the things you want to do in order to be successful, and work on them. He didn’t say walk slowly with them, He said RUN WITH THEM. Give yourself no break, and soon you will see it all become established like the tallest tree in the world. The coast redwood J. The successful people will probably tell you that’s the secret to their success, and that what their “peddling” is no deceit at all. BUT THE TRUTH! So why don’t you give your dream another chance. You never know, this season could be your season of becoming that next “Role model” the world is looking for. It may look like it’s never going to happen, because of where you are right now, but in no time your dream will spring fort out of the nothingness. Don’t give up on your DREAMS. You OWE IT YOU YOURSELF to succeed. Period.

“Taste and see that the LORD is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!” [NLT] – Psalm 34:8

This is such a lovely invitation of trying Him. At least you get to find out for yourself. When you do, you will never need any member of a crowd telling you if He is a good God or a not so good one, because once you try Him, you get to find out for yourself, and have your own views and not the views others. Why don’t you try Jesus today and find out for yourself!
