How my spirit rejoices in God my Savior! [NLT] Luke 1:47

….

There are sometimes you think, surely after everything, what I had planned and hoped for, may just never come through. That just maybe, every thought-process and hard work may have all been in vain. (Smiles :)). And then Jesus goes and surprises me, by frustrating the last minute glitches and hiccups, the “unexpected unexpected” 🙂 that tried to sabotage the translation of my dreams to a reality. Oh how my spirit rejoices in God my saviour. Today is a great day to be alive, a glorious day, and a day of destiny. Friends, look outside of your window, see beyond where you are standing, and you will see that every hard work that you’ve put into making your plans a success this year has not been a waste, Jesus our Firm foundation has seen to it. And He will continue to surprise you throughout the rest of the year. It’s time to laugh out loud, count your blessings, and you will indeed be surprised to see what the Lord has done for you thus far. Your song has indeed changed. It’s a song of triumph ringing forth throughout the city, the county, the country and the continents! Hallelujah! Oh how my spirit rejoices in God my saviour!

For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not being merely human? What then is Apollos? What is Paul? [ESV] 1 Corinthians 3:4-5a

………….

We may have much knowledge, yet still be oblivious to what is true. There are so many contentions, people quarrelling and squabbling among themselves; all of which are sad evidences of the state of life in the world we live in. Serving God, the creator of the entire Heaven and Earth is not about defending your faith – or your so called “#religion” – to the world. For indeed with Him there is no such thing as a religion, but instead, it’s all about a relationship which by its very nature is peaceable (not contentious) through which others gets to see His love. In our walk as #Christ-followers (Christians) we ought to make conscious efforts of imbibing His qualities in our daily lives. Of course that will not be easy, especially if there are people always trying to get into a dispute with you or you are the one who likes going around disputing with others :); but the decision to reflect Jesus’ qualities, is a start in that good direction. We were created to follow Christ, no one else, for only He is the true #foundation on which you can build a life worth living. #Any other foundation is an imitation!

He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together. [NLT] Colossians 1:17

When our Lord Jesus Christ came in his human nature, He became the visible discovery of our #invisible God, and a representative of our Father – even though in His invisible form He existed before time began and forever; and that is why we also call Him Ancient of days. All things were created by Him, for him and by his power; they were made according to his pleasure, and for His praise and glory. He not only created them all, but by the WORD of HIS POWER all the things He made were upheld. Now, can you now imagine having Him as your foundation? An ageless, immovable, powerful, faithful, trustworthy God, who came into this world in a visible form, just so that you knew how much He loved you, and how much He was willing to sacrifice His life for you, just so that you can have a wonderful relationship of trust and fellowship with Him? I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t mind banking and building my life on Him as my Rock and my solid foundation!

If the foundations are destroyed, What can the righteous do?” [NASB] Psalm 11:3

A wrong foundation makes it impossible to build anything! And as we said yesterday, a badly constructed infrastructure built on a well-meaning foundation will still not stand the test of time. But out of the two, there is still hope for the latter, for indeed if he were to retrace his steps he will see his wrongs, and ask God for help in re-building the structure the way it ought to be built. But for the former, he can do nothing to save the building nor do any good works of himself, since the very foundation of his works is precarious. There is no principle/motive that will work; nor will there be an end to his efforts of trying to fix the building – since the fundamental truths/the very base of his work is false. What then should he do? Let us endeavour to build one another up on our most holy faith, on the truth that the Lord #Jesus, who is indeed the Rock of all ages past, present and to come, is for surety a firm foundation. A foundation on which our fellowship with one another and the buildings of our hope and goals for our lives will forever be built on! #Why don’t you try Him today, and see the difference having Jesus makes in your life!

For no one can lay any foundation other than the one we already have–Jesus Christ. [NLT] 1 Corinthians 3:11

…..

Many of us in our various vocations have become successful, and we thank #God for that, because it was His #GRACE that made us so. Now, using God’s grace/mercy/favour over our lives to feed our own self-importance, making idols of ourselves in our very own eyes, is disastrous. Some may say, but I have Jesus as my firm foundation, but using Him as an excuse to build a dreadful building on your once excellent foundation will most-definitely fade/fall away when the trials of life comes if care is not taken. Sometimes we need to take stock checks of our lives, to make sure that what He has given to us has not caused pride (or abominable characters) to become permanent residents in our lives.

As we work through our goals and plans this year, let us try to build our good faith based building on #Jesus Christ, and we will see that He can be trusted to stand the test of time! Indeed I have found Jesus to be a firm foundation in every #challenges of my life, forever #abiding, an #immovable Rock of ages, who never wears off, and Who is more than able to bear the weight of all men. On Him, you can build an edifice, free of pride and envy. On Him, you can be sure of your Salvation, not just for time, but for eternity. #Today let Jesus be your foundation, a foundation built with faith and hope, where adversities of life are overcome, where unobtainable goals are attained, and uncommon successes are evident!

The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. [NLT] Psalm 18:2

Ask the Lord to strengthen your faith and lean on Him for help as you navigate your way through your goals. Asking Him to be your rock means regardless of what happens; you know you can depend on HIM to help you in your time of need. Not only will He help you, He will shield you from the torrents of disappointments that may try to sabotage the success of your goals this year. Let Him help you, and you will find that there is indeed no god like Jehovah. Indeed there is no god like our Lord Jesus. Go to Him, and you will never be dismayed that you did. #Jehovah is a dependable God!

But you, O LORD, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high. [NLT] Psalm 3:3

The Lord Jehovah is your shield, your glory, the one who lifts you up even after you think you’ve failed :). One person’s failed event could be another’s mock event. The practice one before the real test. Even after you’ve given it your best and you didn’t get the results you expected, don’t let that unsettle you. At least you’ve learnt what your strengths and weaknesses are, and should be ready for the next bout on the ring. And this time around, you will not fail. #A failure is only a failure because he thinks he is one! #A person whose head is held high by the Lord surely cannot be a failure? #It’s still full steam ahead working out our goals with the Lord by our side, and dusting ourselves up after a few “mock knock downs”.
