The Worst of them all

Verse of the Day

This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”–and I am the worst of them all. [NLT] 1 Timothy 1:15

…..

BUT He saved me. Trust me, there is no greater gift than this, and no greater peace than having this knowledge. There is no greater trouble, circumstance or problems in this life that should make any of us forget that in spite of everything, Jesus came to this world to save us. You may be experiencing some kind of loss, some kind of rejection, even hurt and resentment. But if you could but only think on this, your priceless gift of salvation, you will realise that everything else pales in comparison to this wonderful knowledge, this wonderful assurance, this wonderful acceptance, that Jesus didn’t just love you, He died to give you a fighting chance to become free. A fighting chance I say, because many still don’t realise that whatever battles they may be facing in life, because of the finished work of Christ on the cross; that automatically makes them an overcomer. That His death of the cross guarantees you victory! The question therefore is do you want to be free? Do you want to be victorious? Do you know that you can be victorious? Why don’t you try Jesus today, and I promise you, you will never regret that decision. I’m still having the time of my life. The journey may not be easy, but believe me, in Him, it will be all worth it! #Verseoftheday #Bible #Jesus #victory #victorious #Overcomer #Salvation #Saviour #Saved

Too wonderful to fail you

Verse of the Day

“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. [NLT] John 14:1

…..

There are so many things, even current world news and developments that can greatly depress the mind. Here Jesus encourages and comforts His disciples about the need in trusting God the Father and in Him [Jesus]. The encouragement is also for you. Are there some situations that are seemingly unbearable, Jesus is saying to you Trust in Him! This is the time to exercise your faith in God the Father and in His son Jesus Christ. And because your trust is in them, you will have peace of mind, not just for time, but for eternity. The peace Jesus gives is not like the sort the world gives (He said so in John 14:27), His peace is the best way to be rid of all your heart troubles. And you know that He can be trusted to do exactly what He promised He will do for you. Trust Him! He will never fail you!  #Verseoftheday #Bible #Devotional

Tempting times are common

Verse of the Day

The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure. [NLT] 1 Corinthians 10:13

……

This is such a wonderful encouragement in that it tells you that whatever it is that you’re going through is not uncommon to you. That is to say, whatever struggles, challenges or trials that are making your life unbearable at the moment, can also happen to others. There are others facing also uncertainty with their jobs / business, struggling with one form of financial difficulty or even having marital problems. Your struggles are not just synonymous to you! However, who cares, if it’s happening or can happen to others, what matters is how is affecting you, right? How true is that statement! Indeed problems are an unwelcomed intruder, but when they do come, be encouraged! You must know that the Lord will show you a way out of them all. He will not let them engulf/take your life. There will be victory at the end of it all. Remain encouraged, and keep trusting God. It will definitely work out for you, and that’s all that matters. #Verseoftheday #Bible #Devotional #CommonTemptations

Prison of Hope!

Verse of the Day

Return to your fortress, you prisoners of hope; even now I announce that I will restore twice as much to you. [NIV] Zechariah 9:12

…….

There are times during the development of your dream/your idea/your goal/your plans, when your hope in it all ever coming to a realization seems to have turned into a prison; or you into a prisoner of some sorts. You cannot make your dreams come true, and at the same time, you cannot let it go by deciding not to believe in them. It’s almost as if you’ve come to a point where giving up on your dreams ever coming true means accepting that it was wrong for you to have ever dreamed/believed that you were much more than the life you are leading.  Even worse, the dream only seems real only to you, but not to others around you. It’s quite possible you’ve started to be seen as a dreamer, a lazy person, who talks about achieving greatness, even though all the work you’ve put in in making the dream a success has all been forgotten by those around you, since the dream has refused to come true. Your hope has not only turned you into the tittle tattle of your friends and neighbours, but your sanity is now in question, as you’ve started to wonder if you were crazy to have ever believed in that dream in the first place. Yes, you may have been caught in a prison of hope, but Jehovah is reminding you, YES, you, that you mustn’t get weary. He’s calling you to come back to that fortress of Hope, to come back to trusting Him again. To trust Him in spite of if those promises from Him has taken so long. To trust Him, regardless of what your mind is saying or even others around you are saying. To trust Him, even when it seems that His dreams given to you might be too big to come through. To trust Him! And because you’ve held on, in that fortress of trust, He will not only make your dreams a realization, but it would be twice as much as you could have ever imagined! Can you imagine, He says He’s going to give you a double portion for all of your troubles! I don’t know about you, but I sure want a double of whatever God is going to give me. It may not be easy, being a laughing stock may not be pleasant, and being the most talked about person because of your dreams may not be easy, yes the waiting may not be easy, but in the end, your hope backed up with a renewed trust and faith in God, will be worth it! Halleluiah, Thank you Jesus! #Verseoftheday #Devotional #Jesus #PrisonOfHope #PrisonerOfHope

Darts of Shame

Verse of the Day

The LORD is my light and my salvation– whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life– of whom shall I be afraid? [NIV] Psalm 27:1

….

If you truly believe that the Lord truthfully is that stronghold, that fortress of your life, where you are shielded and protecting from every form of danger or attack, then that knowledge, that assurance is enough to make you unafraid of what might be happening around you or even out there. There may be rumours circulating at your work place that there may be job cuts on the way / that your contract which is coming up for renewal may not get renewed, don’t let that bother you. You may be believing God for that life partner, starting a family/children, that settlement in your marriage, that establishment, materially and physically, and it all appears not to be forthcoming; and because you are getting on in age for that reason you or others around you may have started to see your life as incomplete; again I say to you, have no fear. You will never suffer shame or humiliation. Yes, trials will come, for a time, but because you know the Lord is that shield, protecting you from all forms of tribulations, that assurance is enough to quench the fiery darts of shame and disgrace when thrown against you. Do not be afraid, the Lord who is your light and salvation will not let them harm you! #Verseoftheday #Devotional #Jesus #DartsOfShame

My new shade of colour, my lifting

Verse of the Day

He pulled me out of a horrible pit, out of the mud and clay. He set my feet on a rock and made my steps secure. [GWT] Psalm 40:2

….

I’m not sure if you know this, but whatever it is you’ve been crying unto the Lord for, God is hearing it all, so you better watch out for what He’s about to do in your life next. The word of the Lord tells us that, that desolate pit, that pit of despair, hopelessness, confusion, misery, destruction that have been your home all this while; that stigma of shame, whatever it is that has made your life dirty, colourless, the Lord will bring you out of them, and set you on an established/solid place of rest – making sure your steps in Him are now made secure. Isn’t that just wonderful! So dry your tears now, there’s going to be a movement in your life; there’s going to be a new change of garments, and it’s going to forever lift you and beautify your life now and forevermore in Jesus name. Amen. Praise be the name of the Lord. #Verseoftheday #Bible #Devotional #Jesus.
