Miserable life, miserable existence, Woe is me!

Verse of the Day

Every day is a terrible day for a miserable person, but a cheerful heart has a continual feast. [GWT] Proverbs 15:15

It is so true that oftentimes when you’ve had a long series of disappointing things happen to you (and I mean long, sometimes even decade long), you can get into the nasty habit of simply expecting more of what you’re already used to having. Naturally, you have been through an awful lot of troubles (too numerous for one person) and so you no longer expect good things/news to come your way. You’ve resigned yourself to the fact that the only thing that will ever come your way is more bad news. I should know, I used to be like that. But one thing I have discovered in my life’s examples is that this is not how God wants us to live our lives. No! On the contrary! The Lord our Father in heaven created us to have a fulfilled and satisfied life. That’s even more the reason why Jesus came, to remind us of that fact. Don’t let yourself be deceived into thinking that only miserable things happen to you, and you were born to live a miserable life. No Way! That’s a lie from the enemy. The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. Do not let it steal your joy. Because once that happens you’ll find yourself in that Rollercoaster where all you expect from your life is a miserable one. And because that is what you’re expecting, it will happen. Make no mistake about that. But the moment you remind yourself of who you are in Christ, and how precious you are to him, and the glorious plans He has for you, you don’t need anyone or anything to make you think less of yourself. You have been created for greatness, and greatness will be realised in your life. Do not doubt that! DO not doubt that. That which the Lord has created you for will be revealed in your life in Jesus name. Amen. #Verseoftheday #Bible #Greatness #MiserableLife #MiserableExistence #Devotional #NoMoreLies #TruthAboutYou
