What is the point in praying?

Today there was this burning question in my mind as to the real point of praying. After waiting for so long, praying the same prayer and still having no change in situation; it got me thinking. Why then should we pray? Since God is sovereign and He’s going to do what makes Him God, then why do we need to petition Him on a change of circumstance which appears or seems to go unanswered? He has asked us to pray without stopping (1 Thessalonians 5:17). To ask until what we’re seeking is fulfilled. But what if you’ve reached that point when you’re all asked out, you’re fed up of asking and waiting and all  you’re thinking is, well since God is going to do what makes Him God, then He doesn’t need my input and therefore doesn’t really need me to pray. How then do you get past this brick wall of hope deferred of when your hope dies? If you’ve reached this brick wall and you’re having this question running riot on your mind,  the only word I can say at this moment to you is “Don’t give up hope regardless”. We each have our roles to play in our church, in each other’s lives. No one is better than the other in Christ. Just because someone appears to be doing better than you or moving faster than you doesn’t make them better than you. They’re simply fulfilling their roles and purpose in Christ. You don’t need to be envious, you were not created to be a looser, all you need do is to find out your purpose by asking the Holy Spirit and you’ll soon realise that when you fulfil the part you were born to fill there will be so much fulfilment of purpose and excellence. Don’t you think so? Find your purpose in life through the help of the Holy Spirit and you will never live a day of envy of others in Jesus name. Amen. No one is created to be better than another, but each of us have been created to fulfil a role in our common goal of expanding the Kingdom of God through our giftings. The Truth is never hidden

Have you allowed a lie or many variations of it to master you? Have you allowed it to get a foothold into your life, letting it erode your hopes and dreams? Was it because it was easier to believe the lie instead of seeing the truth for what it is. Some times what you know for certain about the Sovereignty of God is more than enough for you to see the truth for what it is! That God created you to reflect the glory of His goodness! You don’t need anyone to tell you or teach you the truth. It is never hidden, it’s not that difficult to find? Just because the lie has clouded your mind into believing the truth is not for the like of you; still doesn’t stop the truth from being the truth, doesn’t stop the truth from being what God says is “TRUE”! God is so confident about the truth of all He says concerning you, about your glorious destiny, about you, that no lie of the enemy can ever stop it from becoming a realisation. Don’t you think it’s also time you became confident in the assurance of God, in His truth, which can never be hidden in your life, which He says in Isaiah 55:10-11 will definitely be realised in your life? Courage in times of Adversity

Sometimes after you’ve fought the good fight of faith, and it appears that your seen promised land is still in the distant nether regions, you next action is to stand your ground and not to give in. Not to sit down, while at the same time trying to explain to your heart why it’s time to stop fighting, or to stop hoping, or well to find an alternative land; sometimes all you need do is stand! You have come too far to give up! You’ve put up a brave fight to see it all be in vain! Ask God for courage, the courage to stand and see the vision a reality! Ask the Lord Jesus for His confidence, with which you can douse all fiery doubts back to oblivion. Your season of breakthrough has not left you behind and was never a lie! This year, albeit almost ended, you will still experience the reality (not the religiosity) of serving a Living and Mighty God. Your testimony this 2014 will still be an unending one, so don’t just give in just yet! Ask The “Ancient of Days” for the courage to stand, so that you will be able to see that promised “promise” was never a mirage! The promise of God over your life is an assured one, so keep on standing on that promise! My Good days outweighs my bad days

God knows what’s best for you, even if in that struggle you can’t seem to see the light at the end of it all, God sees you and has seen your future, and it’s not as bad as you may have been led to believe. Think upon all the good in your life, you’ll definitely see that the good days most definitely outweighs the bad days. Besides, nothing good comes from the dark night, that’s why when it’s night time, most people including (you) are expected to rest their body for the new morning, the new day which is filled with so much day light. So you’re having one of those days, you don’t need me to tell you how to spend it :). It’s time to switch off your focus from it all, and focus on Jesus. It’s time you rested your mind on Jesus, it’s time you leaned on Him, and you’ll see you’ll have rest for your soul, not just for a time, but for eternity. Jesus cares much more than you will ever realise. And if you were to do a stock check of how it’s all been, you’ll find that with Jesus, the days haven’t been at all bad! Your natural eyes may remind you of the situations/ circumstances surrounding your birth, your life, that because of where you came from, it’s impossible for you to be the leader of many, to be the world leader in your area of choice, that even though you’re good, you’re not quite good enough for that top position. Understanding you!

There will be some days when you’re not your usual cheerful self. But you need to remember to remind yourself why even then, period or days, why there should be something to be joyful about. It may not be easy, but you need to make up your mind to say something nice to your heart even then. Rough days come and go, disappointing news comes and goes, but the WORD of God stay true, God’s words concerning you stays true. Remind yourself what the scripture says concerning you and your destination. He says He has great plans for you wherever it is you are. And the plans will take you to an expected end. Meaning you will not be disappointed with the outcome of what He will do in your life. Let Christ Jesus navigate you to your expected end, and you’ll see it will not prove false.
