I am confident of this!

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Psalm 23:4 [NIV]

On whom are you basing your confidence in? That’s the problem many of us have. When the storms of life comes (and believe they will come), how do you think you will be able to weather it? Because when fear, and all manner of negative thinking starts creeping into your mind, you will succumb, because who do you know in this life, (even if you don’t believe in the life after) that is dependable, and also has the authority to get you through it? I’ll tell you who, NOBODY except for Jesus! Some people wonder when they see lovers of God going through truly difficult and challenging situations, and still seem to keep a steady confident outlook; they call them “strong”, but it is not their own strength that is at work. No, it is Jesus’ strength in them and through them that is in operation. His grace! That’s why the Psalmist confidently declared “in spite of the challenges”, “even though the storms of life is willing me to give up”, I WILL NOT, why? Because I have Jesus, whose rod and staff keeps holding me up and strong, so I WILL NOT succumb? Can you imagine the difference it makes in one’s life, having Jesus on our “boat” of life? It’s a difference of Life or death, it’s a difference of whether we stay alive and live to declare His goodness in this land of the living, or death! Question is, if you don’t have Him, why not? And why would you want to go through life without Jesus anyways? The choice is always yours!
