But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. So the men marveled, saying, “Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?” Matthew 8:26-27 [NKJV]
Have you been left battered by the overwhelming impact of the negative storms of life which has left you marooned and in a state of neither living, but not quite dead yet? Has it left a devastation which you’ve come to accept is impossible to come out of. Have you evaluated your situation and you’ve realised you’ve come to an unexpected end?
Stop being so fearful! I know of someone who has the power to still even the fiercest of storms. Whenever He shows up in your situation, no matter how vicious the challenge may be, they have no choice but to obey Him. That’s the kind of excellent person He is.
Who can this be you may ask? His name is Jesus! He is the Son of the Living God. Only He has the power to command the negative situations plaguing your life to disappear! Why don’t you try Him today? What do you have to lose by trying Him? Nothing! So why don’t seek His help today! He is the only ONE that can transform impossible, difficult and devastating situations into all kind of wonderful!
Why don’t you give Jesus a try today, and you never know, today might just be that day that all your worries disappear for good!
But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.” – 2 Chronicles 15:7 [NIV]
It’s going to be hard. You will face oppositions of diverse kinds. Do not let them discourage you. These oppositions will come to test your resolve. Don’t let them rule over you. You keep going on. You keep at it courageously, consistently and in confidence. God has told you that your focus, your resolve, your commitment will not go unrewarded. It has not all been in vain. Whatever you do for God, and for his honour and service, will never ever be overlooked. If there’s anything I have learnt in my life is that every time I consistently show up, refusing to give up, God always shows up for me and rewards my efforts. Jesus has never failed me. And He will most certainly not fail you. So don’t try and count the time or how long it’s been, count it’s worth to God, and He will pay you in full.
Nevertheless My lovingkindness I will not utterly take from him, Nor allow My faithfulness to fail. My covenant I will not break, Nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips. Once I have sworn by My holiness; I will not lie to [David]: Psalm 89:33-35 [NKJV]
Maybe you’re among those who are believing God for a long desired breakthrough and because of how long you’ve been waiting, you’ve started to wonder if it will ever happen. Or worse still, if God will ever grant you that desire of a baby, a partner, healing, or a career breakthrough. My dearest friend, it is written in His words, He will never let HIS faithfulness to you to fail. That He has made you a promise, it has left His lips and He will never alter it. Today I want you to remain encouraged. Someone once told me that if you still have joy and remain hopeful, your hope will not be disappointed. Hold onto Him, unto His words. From Everlasting to Everlasting He is God. He is the unchangeable changer. He is unshakeable, immovable. He is constant and consistent. He is consistently faithful, consistently good, and consistently kind. He will come through for you, and He can be relied upon. He is a promise keeper, not a promise and fail kind of god. He is reliable, He is dependable, and He has never failed before. And believe me when I say this, He has NEVER EVER failed me! I implore you to hold on! He will do exactly for you what He said He will do! He has not lied to you!
So the captain came to him, and said to him, “What do you mean, sleeper? Arise, call on your God; perhaps your God will consider us, so that we may not perish.” Jonah 1:6 [NKJV]
It is natural to want to give up when you’re hit with the many storms of life. So you woke up to some bad news, everything that could go wrong suddenly started doing exactly that. Go wrong. Not knowing which way to turn, overwhelmed by it all, you then make the decision to give up. My dearest friend, this is not a time to give up. This is not the time to sleep. This is the exact time to call on your God. The time to pray. If you’re not serving a living God, the Almighty God, then you already know that there will be no answer from the gods that you look to. But if you have confessed that Jesus Christ is the Lord of your life, then you know His Father, God, is a covenant God, and He is a prayer hearing and answering God. He alone is able to help in time of need, and is willing to do it. Thus it is your duty and in your interest to call upon him in your time of trouble, yes, in your time of need; and watch Him show forth for you. He will never disappoint you. So what are you waiting for? Why don’t you try Him today!
This is the time to call on Him, not to go to sleep!
#WordsToLiveBy: “Simeon and Levi are brothers; Instruments of cruelty are in their dwelling place. Cursed be their anger, for it is fierce; And their wrath, for it is cruel! I will divide them in Jacob And scatter them in Israel. Genesis 49:5,7 [NKJV]
Your anger can cost you everything, even your blessings. The children of Simeon and Levi (men of war) will confirm this. Simeon and Levi were brothers whose anger (and unrepentance) caused them to lose their identity, their place of identification, their lot, their blessing, their inheritance only to become lost in a crowd of people. Today I was studying the word of God in Deuteronomy 33:1-29. And then I realised that when Moses who had led Israel (for 40yrs) was about to die, and set about blessing the tribes of Israel, the Simeonites (Simeon descendants) did not get a blessing. In fact Simeon didn’t even get a mention. I realised the words uttered by an upset parent over their children will and do stick. It is true that I later found out in Joshua 19:1 that whatever Simeon did get, their dwelling place/abode, was mixed up with the inheritance of the children of Judah. But ultimately, His Father, Jacob’s words over his life were fulfilled. The tribe Simeon was indeed divided and scattered among the other tribes, and yes they missed out on the same blessings the others received. Even though, Moses did bless the Levites (Levi’s descendants and co-culprit in the anger issue), they too also received no inheritance, except for where to live in. (Joshua 14:3-4). And the irony of it all that even this same Moses (a Levite by tribe) releasing the blessing did not enter his promised land on account of his anger at the waters of Meribah (Numbers 20:2-13).
So this 2017, try not to let your anger rob you of your impending showers of unabated blessing. People will try upsetting you this year, you just don’t let them. You’re not stupid, spineless and cowardly. You’re smart and you know what you’re holding out for. You’re holding out for your blessing and it will be fulfilled this year in the name of Jesus. Amen! How’s your year coming along?
For this is what the Lord says: You will see neither wind nor rain, yet this valley will be filled with water, and you, your cattle and your other animals will drink. This is an easy thing in the eyes of the Lord; 2 Kings 3:17-18 [NIV]
It’s barely the start of the new year, and it’s beginning to look as if things aren’t going to work out as well as you’d want it to. The first month has not ended, yet, already so much debt, frustrations, and loss of momentum. You keep at it. God is encouraging you today, not to give up just yet. You keep on trusting God, you keep on doing your bit, and watch God come through for you much sooner than you’ll ever realise. How’s your year going?
As 2016 ends, I can’t help but to be thankful through it all. As the year begun, I recall putting in so much skill and effort into drawing out the right plan for the year, sat down and evaluated how much of my time it will cost me to see my dreams realised for the year. Wrote out the visions, set out the goals and the milestones ; and thought out what wise and prudent measures I will need to put in place, should the unexpected unexpected happened and be amply prepared and ready to go.
But I am thankful. For the unexpected unexpected unexpected 😀, for the successes but mostly for the disappointments. They were not failures, but they were new chances to re-address my plans. 2016 has been a year of growth, but as it ends, I am grateful for all of the lessons God has taught me this year, and why it’s important to never give up, even if you fail 7 times ❤. You keep it moving. Some of my good plans may not have come together as previously thought out, but with persistence, readjustments and Jesus on my side, I know that they will all work out well in the end.
So cheers to the visions realised in 2016, so many many of them; and to those that need some extra tinkering ❤.
2016 you’ve been exhausting, but in 2017, I plan to retreat, build on the successes, but I will never surrender to the defeats!
