A push without a fall!

Verse of the Day
I was pushed back and about to fall, but the LORD helped me. [NIV] Psalm 118:13
This year we need to prepare ourselves to be pushed. The pushing may come through our desires to succeed in the plans we’ve set up for ourselves this new year. It may also come in the form of an opposition. Sometimes the extremities of the push may cause one to think of giving up. Don’t let it. The Lord say, yes the push may be so strong that it may result in one almost loosing their footing, their way, their vision, BUT He says, He will be there to help us. That He will be there to make sure we don’t fall and fail. Now that’s worth knowing! I don’t know about you, but as for me, this new year I will not let the forceful nature of the push derail me from my expected end! #VerseoftheDay #Devotional #Bible #NewYear #NewYearResolution #Jesus

Less than no man!!

Verse of the Day

For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. [NIV] Romans 12:3-5
We each have our roles to play in our church, in each other’s lives. No one is better than the other in Christ. Just because someone appears to be doing better than you or moving faster than you doesn’t make them better than you. They’re simply fulfilling their roles and purpose in Christ. You don’t need to be envious, you were not created to be a looser, all you need do is to find out your purpose by asking the Holy Spirit and you’ll soon realise that when you fulfil the part you were born to fill there will be so much fulfilment of purpose and excellence. Don’t you think so? Find your purpose in life through the help of the Holy Spirit and you will never live a day of envy of others in Jesus name. Amen. No one is created to be better than another, but each of us have been created to fulfil a role in our common goal of expanding the Kingdom of God through our giftings. See to it you find yours. #VerseoftheDay #Devotional #Bible #Jesus #Gifts #Purpose #CreatedForAPurpose

It makes a difference Having God as your Father

Verse of the Day

Then you will know that the LORD makes a distinction between the Egyptians and the Israelites. [NLT] Exodus 11:7b

Before the children of Israel could be rescued, they had to be reminded about the goodness and greatness of God. They had been enslaved for so long that they had probably given up on the idea of ever being freed/rescued, or if in fact the God of their fore-fathers was still in the business of answering heartfelt requests that was birthed from their sufferings. And when Pharaoh refused Moses’ messages from God, the Lord had to show to the Israelites that their God was a living One and not like the gods of the Egyptians. I’m sure when they were reminded the lengths Jehovah would go in order to rescue them from their distresses, I’m sure we don’t need to wonder how they would have felt at the time. The Lord Jesus, the Son of God says anyone who believes in Him, who believes in His teachings have salvation for their souls. And through our faith in Jesus Christ, God qualifies us as His children, and regardless of whatever we might be going through, He is more than able to show to us and the people around us, that there is indeed a benefit in having the Creator of the entire universe as our Father.

Verse of the Day

The LORD continued to appear at Shiloh, and there he revealed himself to Samuel through his word. [NIV] 1 Samuel 3:21

Someone may have told you that in order for you to communicate with the Lord, you will need to hear His voice audibly. And to know it’s truly Him He needs to appear to you in person in order for you to believe. You don’t need God to appear to you in person for you to believe, you simply don’t, for indeed He can reveal himself through His written word, through His spoken word, through the Holy Spirit, through various means, He is the Lord and He will do what He pleases. However it’s not farfetched to believe that He can appear to you in person if He wishes to. Here, we are told that as young as Samuel was in the Lord, the Lord continued to appear to Him through His Word. And who is this word of the Lord that is being referred to? Jesus Christ! Even before Christ took on human flesh, He Was! You see, in the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1) The Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son. (John 1:14). So where I’m I going with this, Jesus can still reveal himself in person to you, it’s not bonkers to think so 🙂 and you’re not out of your mind, if you happen to see Him. However, if you among those who haven’t seen his person, it still doesn’t mean He’s not who He is, and that He loves you any less! #He is God, He is Sovereign, He is Who He is, creator of heaven and earth! #VerseoftheDay #SamuelChallenge
