A push without a fall!

Verse of the Day
I was pushed back and about to fall, but the LORD helped me. [NIV] Psalm 118:13
This year we need to prepare ourselves to be pushed. The pushing may come through our desires to succeed in the plans we’ve set up for ourselves this new year. It may also come in the form of an opposition. Sometimes the extremities of the push may cause one to think of giving up. Don’t let it. The Lord say, yes the push may be so strong that it may result in one almost loosing their footing, their way, their vision, BUT He says, He will be there to help us. That He will be there to make sure we don’t fall and fail. Now that’s worth knowing! I don’t know about you, but as for me, this new year I will not let the forceful nature of the push derail me from my expected end! #VerseoftheDay #Devotional #Bible #NewYear #NewYearResolution #Jesus

His name your life Changer!

Verse of the Day

If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. [NKJV] John 14:14

Jesus Christ gave us a signed open cheque. That whatever we ask in His name, that is for our real good that is according to His will for us, that is for the glory of God, that He would do it for us. But you’re probably wondering, but how do I know what is good for me? How do I know what is according to God’s will for me and that will also bring Glory to God? Don’t you know that the will of God is not meant to be a secret we must uncover? No, Indeed, God wants us to understand His will far more than we want to understand it. He has always made His will very clear to us, to those of us who look to Him and are obedient to His commands. Aside from the facts that God wants us Saved (1 Timothy 2:3-4; 2 Peter 3:9), Spirit-filled (Ephesians 5:17-18), Sanctified (1 Thessalonians 4:3-7), committed to His word (1 Peter 2:13-15) and to understand that the journey is not for the faint hearted (Philippians 1:29; 2 Timothy 3:12), He also wants us to live in great health and prosper, even as our soul is prospering (3 John 1:2). So if you’re struggling in the area of your health, emotionally, physically, financially why don’t you ask Jesus’ help? He said He would, so don’t be shy about it. He wants you to be healthy and well. He wants you not to be in lack. There are so many wonderful things He wants for you, all you need do is find out for yourself what He wants for your life. And trust me God speaks, and clearly too. Stop suffering in silence and open your mouth and your heart to ask for His help; ask in the name of Jesus Christ, a name that is above every other name and He will do it for you. Don’t be shy? Ask and watch your change come! #Devotional #VerseoftheDay #Truth #God #Bible #Change #WillofGod #Name #Jesus #Christ

The Worst of them all

Verse of the Day

This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”–and I am the worst of them all. [NLT] 1 Timothy 1:15

BUT He saved me. Trust me, there is no greater gift than this, and no greater peace than having this knowledge. There is no greater trouble, circumstance or problems in this life that should make any of us forget that in spite of everything, Jesus came to this world to save us. You may be experiencing some kind of loss, some kind of rejection, even hurt and resentment. But if you could but only think on this, your priceless gift of salvation, you will realise that everything else pales in comparison to this wonderful knowledge, this wonderful assurance, this wonderful acceptance, that Jesus didn’t just love you, He died to give you a fighting chance to become free. A fighting chance I say, because many still don’t realise that whatever battles they may be facing in life, because of the finished work of Christ on the cross; that automatically makes them an overcomer. That His death of the cross guarantees you victory! The question therefore is do you want to be free? Do you want to be victorious? Do you know that you can be victorious? Why don’t you try Jesus today, and I promise you, you will never regret that decision. I’m still having the time of my life. The journey may not be easy, but believe me, in Him, it will be all worth it! #Verseoftheday #Bible #Jesus #victory #victorious #Overcomer #Salvation #Saviour #Saved

Lost and Found

Verse of the Day

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” [NIV] John 16:33

During my long trip today, I had the opportunity to be left alone with my thoughts. As I went back and forth through it all, without the demands of a toddler asking me why the TV channel was fixated at the wrong one, or why his food is not quite to the temperature he prefers, I am reminded of a time long gone, and how it is now, the journey in between and how far the Lord has brought me. The future is not certain or guaranteed to any person, indeed it is not promised to any man, but I know of one who knows the future. And when you have Him with you, you can go through the journey of life with an unshakable hope that your future is secure at the hands of “the future maker”, Jesus! I don’t know what you might be struggling with in your present. Maybe the outlook is so bleak that you’ve considered giving in and ending it all. If you did, you will never get to see the glorious plans He has for your life. Yes challenges will come, but Jesus promises you that you will be victorious! Now that is the benefit having Him with you makes to your life’s experiences. I am a living testimony of that fact and truth. You may have lost your way, confused and at your wits end. But I am here to tell you, that having Jesus with you makes all the difference. He is the difference. And with Him, He is your only hope of Glory, and your guarantee to life, and life everlasting. Why don’t you try Jesus Today, He has all the answers to the burning questions keeping awake when you should be at rest. #Verseoftheday #Bible #Devotional #LostAndFound #Jesus #FutureMaker #JourneyFinisher #VictoriousLiving #Christ #HopeofGlory #Glory

People will talk; don’t let the talk destroy you!

Verse of the day

But some people have missed this whole point. They have turned away from these things and spend their time in meaningless discussions. [NLT] [1 Timothy 1:6]

There will always be people who can overturn houses and homes with their mouths, i.e., people that are capable of #destroying families, business and even marriages by merely #speaking. Negative Words are powerful. We have examples of parents speaking negative words over the lives of their children, such words like “Child, you are stupid”, “You are an Idiot”, “You will never learn”, and the only thing the child grows learning is never to trust themselves; and since they’ve been branded as worthless, they end up believing it and think very little of themselves. #Negative #words are #hurtful. There will also be a group of people who will speak negative words around us, with the intension to discourage, derail and destroy us. The word of #God reminds us that this will happen and have been happening from time, it’s not a new phenomenon, and the onus now is how we choose to deal with such words. Instead of encouraging one another in Christ, and in His love, many have turned to wicked and destructive talks. Don’t let such people destroy your peace! It’s time you identified the purpose behind the vain and treacherous talk and remind your hearts whom you are in Christ, and that you’re not what they are saying. Don’t get me wrong, being on the receiving end of such talks will be hurtful, but never forget who you are in Christ. You are loved, precious, cherished and highly sought after – Jesus even gave His life for you, that’s just how important you are! And parents, who carelessly toss cruel words to their children, don’t you think it’s about time you stopped? I declare that every mouth speaking evil/negative words against you, with the intension of destroying/derailing your destiny will be stopped in Jesus name. Amen.

The Untouchables

Verse of the Day

Then Abimelech issued a public proclamation: “Anyone who touches this man or his wife will be put to death!” [NLT] Genesis 26:11

In this story, Abimelech had taken Rebekah, Isaac’s wife because Isaac had told him she was his sister – on account that he was afraid that if they found out she was his wife, they might kill him and take her. Truth be told, there is nothing in Isaac’s denial of his wife that should be excused, especially since, this was the same temptation that overcame his father (in Genesis 20), and therefore he should have learned from it and made sure it was not repeated in his generation. Even though this current Abimelech was not the same one during Abraham’s time, they both acted justly. Once Abimelech found out that Rebekah was indeed Isaac’s wife, he issued a decree that anyone who touches them will pay with their lives. If an earthly king could make such a decree how much more our heavenly father who is the King of kings. His word in Psalm 105:15 issues a decree that “His anointed should not be touched”. You may be wondering, who is God referring to? In 2 Corinthians 1:20, we are told that God has established us in Christ and anointed us, and in 1 Peter 2:9, He has chosen us. So we, not a selection of people, we, you and me, are God’s anointed. And since God has already made a decree that we his anointed should not be touched, what then does that make us! It means, we are “The Untouchables”. Yes, struggles/challenges will come, but we have to remember to not let it touch us. We need to identify the purpose of it, but have to remember because of who we are in Christ, “The Untouchables”, that struggle will not be to our detriment! I think a more appropriate expression is that as untouchables, because of Christ, we have become bullet proof to every form of challenges shot at us. Yes we might get wounded, but because we’re wearing Christ as our armour, those trials will not be the end of us. #Devotional #Verseoftheday #Bible #Isaac #Abraham

Our Children’s peace!

Verse of the Day

All your children will be taught by the LORD, and great will be their peace. [NIV] Isaiah 54:13

It is important for our #children to know what it means to put their faith in #Christ our #Saviour, and the importance of how following Him will help them navigate this troubled world with His peace. We may not realise this, but children also face many forms of adversities and trials, and so developing faith in Christ and hope for their futures based on the knowledge of the Love of God, will be irreplaceable in their journeys through life. It is also just as important to pray continually for them, so that what they will never depart from the Lord, in-spite of life’s travails, all the days of their lives in Jesus name. Amen. It is my prayer that our children will be personally taught by the Lord, so that they will know Him in Spirit and in truth, and need no one to persuade them who Christ is, because they will know Him truly! #Verseoftheday #Children #Devotional #Bible #Peace

Prayer: I confess the word of God over my children. I confess that all of my children are taught of the Lord and great is their peace and undisturbed composure. [Is 54:13]. They will grow in wisdom and stature and have favour with God and man. [Luke 2:52]. I will train up my children in the way they should go, and when they are old they will never turn from it. [Proverbs 22:6]. The angels of God will keep charge over my children to accompany and defend them and preserve them in all their ways. [Ps 91:2]. You Lord are their refuge and fortress. You are their glory and the triumph of their heads. [Ps 91]. I confess that my children will delight themselves in the Lord and God will give them the desires of their heart. [Ps 37:4]. I confess that my children are more than willing and obedient, and will eat the best of the land. [Is 1:19]. I confess that my children will obey their parents in the Lord. They will honour, esteem, and value as precious to them, us their parents, for this is the first commandment of God with a promise, so that it will be well with them and that they will live long on the earth. [Eph 6:2]. My children will choose life and love you Lord and obey Your voice and cling to You; for You are their life and the length of their days. I hide them in Chrsit Jesus and Christ in the Father and plead the blood of Jesus over all the days their lives, in Jesus name. Amen.
