Verse of the Day
I was pushed back and about to fall, but the LORD helped me. [NIV] Psalm 118:13
This year we need to prepare ourselves to be pushed. The pushing may come through our desires to succeed in the plans we’ve set up for ourselves this new year. It may also come in the form of an opposition. Sometimes the extremities of the push may cause one to think of giving up. Don’t let it. The Lord say, yes the push may be so strong that it may result in one almost loosing their footing, their way, their vision, BUT He says, He will be there to help us. That He will be there to make sure we don’t fall and fail. Now that’s worth knowing! I don’t know about you, but as for me, this new year I will not let the forceful nature of the push derail me from my expected end! #VerseoftheDay #Devotional #Bible #NewYear #NewYearResolution #Jesus
So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless. [NLT] 1 Corinthians 15:58
Be strong and Immovable in the work you do towards achieving your desired objectives for this 2014. No hard work carried out to fulfil your – career, family life, work for the Lord, helping people – goals will ever be in vain. Your persistent diligence will most definitely yield a wonderful end result for you. As you continue to press on towards your desired goal, you will never be disappointed with what you end up with in Jesus name. Amen. Put the right work in order to get your desired goal this 2014.
“There was a judge in a certain city,” he said, “who neither feared God nor cared about people. A widow of that city came to him repeatedly, saying, ‘Give me justice in this dispute with my enemy.’ The judge ignored her for a while, but finally he said to himself, ‘I don’t fear God or care about people, but this woman is driving me crazy. I’m going to see that she gets justice, because she is wearing me out with her constant requests!’” [NLT] Luke 18:2-5
Jesus told us of a parable where He highlights “persisting in something” to ALWAYS have its dividends. The widow’s seriousness to see Justice in her situation prevailed even with the unjust judge. Why because she never gave up on the results she wanted. Even though Jesus uses this example to show us the significance of praying, He points up “persistence” in praying being the operative word. In seeing your goals fulfilled this year, are there elements you needed to persist on that you haven’t bothered to consider? Don’t you think it’s time you put your fears aside, and defy what may be holding you hostage in making progress towards your goals? #The widow saw her goal fulfilled because she persisted and never gave up. You too will see you goals fulfilled this year because you persisted to the very end!
So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the LORD your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.” [NLT] Deuteronomy 31:6
It’s true that the work involved in transforming your plans from once a figment of your imagination to reality is numerous, immense and enormous in nature. Confusion of where to start may have set in, and you’re now probably considering ditching the whole idea, and just settling for the ordinary. Don’t you know that the workload entailed can never defeat you? Since during the planning and preparation stage you asked #JEHOVAH God to help you to make your plans a success this 2014, the tasks to do in getting your projects off the ground cannot conquer you. Be of sound mind; be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Trust and rely on Him solely and He will never disappoint you. Don’t let the workload devastate you, be of good courage, and do all you can to get the work started. You are well on your way to your breakthrough. You are well on your way to seeing your plans realised this 2014. You are well on your way in making your dreams a reality. You are well on your way to a great start this 2014! #Shake, shake your body loose! #Don’t let your life be intimidated, oppressed, harassed, and tormented by the work it needs to get to where it desires to be! #Still no quitters invited, permitted or needed! #Hard work is still the name of the plan!
Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically. [NLT] Romans 12:11
It’s great to be in the land of the living and a wonderful morning to you too.
By now, you’ve probably settled your mind on your plans and have tried to lay all the necessary foundations in order to get it off to a great start. You’ve probably woken up this morning, and it appears that some of the excitement you once had, has all of sudden been replaced with a kind of uneasiness, due to the stark realisation of the magnitude of the work/task to be done. In fact, merely thinking of it all may have left you a little breathless. Don’t let your focus be distorted by your mind! Don’t let your passion continue to be a figment of your imagination. Do with your might every task your hand finds to do, and do it well with so much zeal. Don’t let the magnitude of the work derail you from getting to the finishing line. You may have been told, what you would like to achieve this 2014 is way too many and unrealistic, I say to you “With man indeed they are impossible, but with God all things are possible”. So don’t let the mountain of work overwhelm you, work hard, and while you’re doing that too, remember to serve the Lord this 2014. #Is your 2014 off to a great start? #Be careful with whom you’re listening to! #No quitters invited, permitted or needed! #Hard work always pays!
Then he touched their eyes and said, “Because of your faith, it will happen.” [NLT] Matthew 9:29
Is your lens of faith distorting your focus? Is it causing you to see what is not there by magnifying/multiplying a problem, or generally making you feel pain? Sometimes, it’s easy to forget that what we think is a long-lasting and oppressive problem is in fact a temporary irritation. A lot of the time, the aggravations we face, are not actually problems but more so, trials of patience, tests of endurance or a period of adjustments. These discomforts in the end always go. The issues that disquieted me in the past are not the ones trying my patience now. But I know for a fact that they too will go. It’s all to do with my lens of faith. What lenses are you using? Are you using a magnifying lens to magnify the irritations or are you seeing them as they are? A temporary setback only there to help you to be a little bit more patient? You can only fight the fight of faith with the right lens, which only Jesus can give. The right lens is what you need in order to see your goals and visions clearly; the right lens is what you need to get to your success story this 2014.
