A push without a fall!

Verse of the Day
I was pushed back and about to fall, but the LORD helped me. [NIV] Psalm 118:13
This year we need to prepare ourselves to be pushed. The pushing may come through our desires to succeed in the plans we’ve set up for ourselves this new year. It may also come in the form of an opposition. Sometimes the extremities of the push may cause one to think of giving up. Don’t let it. The Lord say, yes the push may be so strong that it may result in one almost loosing their footing, their way, their vision, BUT He says, He will be there to help us. That He will be there to make sure we don’t fall and fail. Now that’s worth knowing! I don’t know about you, but as for me, this new year I will not let the forceful nature of the push derail me from my expected end! #VerseoftheDay #Devotional #Bible #NewYear #NewYearResolution #Jesus

A short-changed life!

Verse of the Day

For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. [NKJV] Proverbs 23:7a

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword [NKJV] Hebrews 4:12a

You cannot determine everything in your life with the way you feel, but with the way you think, with the way you speak. Speaking the Word of God activates your faith, changes your mind set and your thinking; and is that key in unlocking the doors to your miracles. Do you know that the word of God is living and filled with power? Do you know that? Do you know that when God’s word is activated in your life, His Word can fortify you against any giant, any obstacle, and any person that could ever stand in the way of your progress in life? Do you know that? Don’t you think it’s time you started empowering your mind with all that God says concerning you. Don’t you think it’s time you started speaking the words of God into existence into your life, into your life’s situation? Don’t short-change your destiny with your negative thinking; change it with the word of God. And with God on your side, you can never be defeated! #Verseoftheday #Devotional #Bible #JesusCan #Depression #Suicidal #Suicide #GivingUp #Encouragement #confused #confusion #Peace #breakthrough #hurt #pain #StinkingThinking #WordOfGod #ThinkGod #ThinkLife

It’s time you gave yourself a break!

Verse of the Day

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. [NKJV] John 14:27

When you’ve done all you can; when you’ve tried all the possible ways to try to fix the pieces of your broken life; when you’ve worn yourself out with worry, frustration, anger and bitterness; when you’ve looked, searched, asked and can’t seem to find any help in the horizon; when your outlook is bleak and you’ve come to a point when you feel or think that all is lost, and your life is beyond redemption. Don’t you think it’s time you stopped with all the worrying and gave yourself a break, don’t you think it’s time you asked for a different kind of help. But you’re probably saying, I’ve tried and even exhausted every possible means and nothing happened, nothing changed? No one can help me! But I’m saying to you, Jesus can! And He wants to! Don’t you think it’s time you asked Jesus to step in, to do the impossible, and to do that which no man/woman can do for you? Don’t you think it’s time you got that break, that turn around in your life? Don’t you think it’s time to live the life He created you to live, and not the life you think you can or cannot get by with? Don’t you think it’s time you called on the master builder? Don’t you think it’s time you asked for His help? He says when He steps in, you will not only have what He made you to have, but you will finally have peace and rest of mind in this life. Don’t you think you need that peace? Don’t you think it’s time you gave yourself a break? It’s time you gave yourself a fighting chance to breakthrough into the life you were created to live. A life with Jesus, that is beyond pain and hurt, but all about His peace in the midst of all the confusions. #Verseoftheday #Devotional #JesusCan #Depression #Suicidal #Suicide #GivingUp #Encouragement #confused #confusion #Peace #breakthrough #hurt #pain

People will talk; don’t let the talk destroy you!

Verse of the day

But some people have missed this whole point. They have turned away from these things and spend their time in meaningless discussions. [NLT] [1 Timothy 1:6]

There will always be people who can overturn houses and homes with their mouths, i.e., people that are capable of #destroying families, business and even marriages by merely #speaking. Negative Words are powerful. We have examples of parents speaking negative words over the lives of their children, such words like “Child, you are stupid”, “You are an Idiot”, “You will never learn”, and the only thing the child grows learning is never to trust themselves; and since they’ve been branded as worthless, they end up believing it and think very little of themselves. #Negative #words are #hurtful. There will also be a group of people who will speak negative words around us, with the intension to discourage, derail and destroy us. The word of #God reminds us that this will happen and have been happening from time, it’s not a new phenomenon, and the onus now is how we choose to deal with such words. Instead of encouraging one another in Christ, and in His love, many have turned to wicked and destructive talks. Don’t let such people destroy your peace! It’s time you identified the purpose behind the vain and treacherous talk and remind your hearts whom you are in Christ, and that you’re not what they are saying. Don’t get me wrong, being on the receiving end of such talks will be hurtful, but never forget who you are in Christ. You are loved, precious, cherished and highly sought after – Jesus even gave His life for you, that’s just how important you are! And parents, who carelessly toss cruel words to their children, don’t you think it’s about time you stopped? I declare that every mouth speaking evil/negative words against you, with the intension of destroying/derailing your destiny will be stopped in Jesus name. Amen.

Verse of the Day

“What is more pleasing to the LORD: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams. [NLT] 1 Samuel 15:22

The etymology of the word obey revealed that obedience is more about listening and less about complying with rules. In other words, to obey is to listen and thus obedience is a kind of “Deep listening”. And when you’re so deep in listening, it’s much easier to hear what is being said, and harkening to the voice you’re listening to. Have you been so busy doing one thing or the other, thinking that by getting busy with the things you think that pleases God, that you’re indirectly obeying His words? When was the last time, you sat down, leaving all the cares of the world behind and just listened to the Voice of God, to what God wants to say to you? I know sometimes it can be really hard, especially when you’re trying to juggle being a full time parent, a full time career person, family responsibilities, ministry work and other relationships? I’m sure after a full day your exhausted body is looking for a comfortable bed to rest on. I know it’s not going to be easy, but God is telling us here that obedience/deep listening to His voice and understanding His plans for us is much pleasing to Him than doing what we think will please Him. Which one would you rather do? Do the things that He tells you pleases Him, or do the ones you think would please Him? Which of the two do you think God would accept or reject from you? #VerseoftheDay #SamuelChallenge
