A push without a fall!

Verse of the Day
I was pushed back and about to fall, but the LORD helped me. [NIV] Psalm 118:13
This year we need to prepare ourselves to be pushed. The pushing may come through our desires to succeed in the plans we’ve set up for ourselves this new year. It may also come in the form of an opposition. Sometimes the extremities of the push may cause one to think of giving up. Don’t let it. The Lord say, yes the push may be so strong that it may result in one almost loosing their footing, their way, their vision, BUT He says, He will be there to help us. That He will be there to make sure we don’t fall and fail. Now that’s worth knowing! I don’t know about you, but as for me, this new year I will not let the forceful nature of the push derail me from my expected end! #VerseoftheDay #Devotional #Bible #NewYear #NewYearResolution #Jesus

Don’t bury what can live!

Verse of the Day

“You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.” [NLT] Matthew 17:20
Strip off of your person every tag, label, and signs of limitations in your life which your Father in heaven has not placed on you. The power that raised Jesus from the dead is at work in you, don’t you realise what that means. Don’t limit yourself by giving up on your dreams, dare to see it fulfilled in your life. If you have enough faith to say it, God has enough power to do it. And He is more than able to make you an unstoppable wonder in your generation. You are much more than the life you are leading. Don’t bury the dream when it has a great survival rate with God! Don’t give up on God, He is more than able to breathe life into every stagnant, dead, barren areas of your life. All you need do is have faith in God. Not big faith, faith as small as a mustard seed. Don’t bury what can live! #Faith #MustardSeedFaith #God #Jesus #VerseoftheDay #Devotional

Courage in times of Adversity

Verse of the Day

So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most [NLT] Hebrews 4:16

Sometimes after you’ve fought the good fight of faith, and it appears that your seen promised land is still in the distant nether regions, you next action is to stand your ground and not to give in. Not to sit down, while at the same time trying to explain to your heart why it’s time to stop fighting, or to stop hoping, or well to find an alternative land; sometimes all you need do is stand! You have come too far to give up! You’ve put up a brave fight to see it all be in vain! Ask God for courage, the courage to stand and see the vision a reality! Ask the Lord Jesus for His confidence, with which you can douse all fiery doubts back to oblivion. Your season of breakthrough has not left you behind and was never a lie! This year, albeit almost ended, you will still experience the reality (not the religiosity) of serving a Living and Mighty God. Your testimony this 2014 will still be an unending one, so don’t just give in just yet! Ask The “Ancient of Days” for the courage to stand, so that you will be able to see that promised “promise” was never a mirage! The promise of God over your life is an assured one, so keep on standing on that promise! Your life is not a mistake, your expectation is not a false one and you my friends are not alone! #VerseoftheDay #Devotional #Bible #Jesus #CourageInTimesOfAdversity #CourageToStand #God #Faith #Fight #FightOfFaith

Betrayal does not mean Denial

Verse of the day

God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?[ NLT] Numbers 23:19

Many of the reasons why many of us don’t receive the full promise of God is maybe because we often bring Him to the level of men by our thinking. Because we were once victims of abuse, betrayal, broken promises and lies and many lies at the hands of men, when faced with having to wait for the fulfilment of God’s promise on that desired goal, we give up on the promise because we think it won’t happen due to our previous experiences suffered at hands of people; thereby equating God to man. Just because you have been betrayed by people does not mean that God is going to do the same, that maybe that long awaited dream is taking so long to find fulfilment in your life because God changed his mind. God can be trusted you know, we are reminded here that He is not a man that is susceptible to changing his mind, lying and breaking promises. God is not like that. He can be trusted, He can be relied upon, and He NEVER fails to act on your behalf. He will do exactly what He’s told you in His book that He will do for you. That desired/promised change may be taken longer than it should, but that doesn’t mean that the delay is because He’s forgotten or that He’s changed His mind concerning you. Have faith, God is still at work on your behalf.

Faith to have faith!

Verse of the Day

Have mercy on us and help us, if you can.” “What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.” [NLT] Mark 9:22b-23

As Christians, we need to understand that there will be times in our walk with Christ when some areas of our lives will encounter challenges. In as much as you are hurt, disappointed and frustrated, don’t let it all get the better of you. Don’t allow yourself to indulge in doubt/unbelief. Don’t give in to the temptation to lash out, complain or give up on your faith in God. Yes you might feel, you’re all prayed out and faith”ed” out, but that desired change still remains unanswered, so what is the point? When it seems you’re all faith”ed” out, see this as that opportunity to go back to God asking Him to restore or even re-ignite your faith in Christ Jesus again. Never underestimate how important it is to ask God for His help in restoring or re-establishing your weakened faith foundation. Someone once said that sometimes, what we need during this time of waning faith is the “faith to have faith”. Ask God for the “faith to have faith” and He will give it to you. And you never know the answers to your breakthrough that may have eluded you for so long, may be hidden in a prayer that you’ve yet to utter. Nevertheless, in times of wavering faith, ask the Holy Spirit of God to re-ignite your faith so that you can finish the race set out before you well!

The Truth sets free

Verse of the Day

And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” [NLT] John 8:32

The written word of God the Bible did not tell us to have Blind Faith. On the contrary it insists that we test everything we see, hear and read. And even if one was to choose the route of Atheism even that requires you to have a great deal of faith to maintain it too. I can understand if you are uncomfortable with having blind faith by believing that Jesus Christ who was born some time ago was the son of God, that’s if you think there is a God that is. But no one who really believes in Jesus Christ was ever once comfortable with having faith in a God unknown to them, per se. But after searching deeply, studying the evidence, examining everything, there comes a time when you become persuaded that having faith in God the Father, Jesus Christ His son and our wonderful comforter the Holy Spirit isn’t blind after all. Test everything. Don’t just believe what the crowd says. Check the history, check the facts. Form your own views – not what someone says it ought to be, and that my friends, after everything, you will come to know this truth about this Faith in Jesus, and that knowledge will indeed set you free from every doubt you may have ever struggled with. #CaseForChrist #TruthAboutChrist #Verseoftheday #Devotional

Your reward is worth waiting for!

Verse of the day

So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised. [NLT] Hebrews 10:35-36

Don’t give in Just yet! Your reward is much closer than you think. Wait for it! Everything we do in life requires, to a great extent, patience; without which no real enjoyment can be derived from one’s life. Why you ask? Because in order to get the best out of life, in order to get through those challenges and come out on top, in order to excel through that trial, you need endurance to work your way out into your place of promotion. Giving up, or latching onto the next best thing which isn’t that desired goal/end or promise just won’t do. And you need the help of God, to make the waiting worthwhile. I think I’ve probably confused myself a little, but the crunch of the matter is, you just cannot afford to give up on your life. Your life which Christ created you to live is worth fighting for! #Verseoftheday #Devotional #CantAffordToGiveUp #RewardWorthWaitingFor #Bible #Hebrews
