Verse of the Day

And I will cause the Egyptians to look favorably on you. They will give you gifts when you go so you will not leave empty-handed. Every Israelite woman will ask for articles of silver and gold and fine clothing from her Egyptian neighbors and from the foreign women in their houses. [NLT] Exodus 3.22

When the time came for God to deliver His children, the people of Israel, it was not a good time for their masters the Egyptians. Infact, they would have preferred anytime but that time. Why you ask? The Egyptians had gone through a series of plagues, diseases and deaths because their leader and king, Pharaoh refused to let the children of Israel go. The Egyptians were in a state of unending sorrow, and mourning because of what was happening around them, yet the Lord encouraged the Children of Israel, that before they make the journey, they should “ask” the Egyptians for some gifts for the road. Of course anyone in their right mind would see that, when a man or woman is out of sorts, it’s not the right time to ask them for favour, gift and the likes. But the Lord told the children of Israel to ask. And asked they did, and received they did. Is there someone in a place of authority that you need to receive favour from, and you’re a little worried, because you’ve heard he/she is always in a bad mood? The Lord is telling you, GO FOR IT! You have the favour of the Lord Jesus Christ with you, and for that reason, your time of favour is now, and you my dearest will not be denied of what you’re asking! #Verseoftheday #Exodus

As for God, His way is blameless; The word of the LORD is tried; He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him. Psalm 18:30 [NASB]

I woke up this morning with a list of a few things I was unhappy about. My first thought wasn’t “thank you Lord Jesus for another beautiful day” which was usually my response at the sight of day break, but instead, I woke up #tired, irritated, upset, unsettled as my mind ran through a list of things which had probably been etched in my mind of thinking just before I sank deep into sleep the night before. But as I sat here going through my list of testimonies “Overwhelming powerful, awesome, wonderful, excellent, beyond belief/imaginable things that God has done for me” I couldn’t help but realise God’s word, His promises to me have not only been certain/sure, but have been true, tried and tested. It beggars belief, that after everything, EVERYTHING God has done for me, I would sink so low to wake up being ungrateful. He has never failed before in my life, and He’s not going to start to fail now, He has never been unfaithful, – in fact to be truthful I have found Him to be constant, consistent and always on time. His love never changing, His favour has been so indescribable. And to top it all, His Words are not for me only but for you too, for everyone. Your day/life may not be as you wanted or planned it, but having #Jesus makes all the difference. Don’t just take my word for it, try Him yourself.

Thank you Lord Jesus for restoration! I have hidden His word in my heart – Can’t be having a repeat of this morning again 🙂

If the foundations are destroyed, What can the righteous do?” [NASB] Psalm 11:3

A wrong foundation makes it impossible to build anything! And as we said yesterday, a badly constructed infrastructure built on a well-meaning foundation will still not stand the test of time. But out of the two, there is still hope for the latter, for indeed if he were to retrace his steps he will see his wrongs, and ask God for help in re-building the structure the way it ought to be built. But for the former, he can do nothing to save the building nor do any good works of himself, since the very foundation of his works is precarious. There is no principle/motive that will work; nor will there be an end to his efforts of trying to fix the building – since the fundamental truths/the very base of his work is false. What then should he do? Let us endeavour to build one another up on our most holy faith, on the truth that the Lord #Jesus, who is indeed the Rock of all ages past, present and to come, is for surety a firm foundation. A foundation on which our fellowship with one another and the buildings of our hope and goals for our lives will forever be built on! #Why don’t you try Him today, and see the difference having Jesus makes in your life!

For no one can lay any foundation other than the one we already have–Jesus Christ. [NLT] 1 Corinthians 3:11

Many of us in our various vocations have become successful, and we thank #God for that, because it was His #GRACE that made us so. Now, using God’s grace/mercy/favour over our lives to feed our own self-importance, making idols of ourselves in our very own eyes, is disastrous. Some may say, but I have Jesus as my firm foundation, but using Him as an excuse to build a dreadful building on your once excellent foundation will most-definitely fade/fall away when the trials of life comes if care is not taken. Sometimes we need to take stock checks of our lives, to make sure that what He has given to us has not caused pride (or abominable characters) to become permanent residents in our lives.

As we work through our goals and plans this year, let us try to build our good faith based building on #Jesus Christ, and we will see that He can be trusted to stand the test of time! Indeed I have found Jesus to be a firm foundation in every #challenges of my life, forever #abiding, an #immovable Rock of ages, who never wears off, and Who is more than able to bear the weight of all men. On Him, you can build an edifice, free of pride and envy. On Him, you can be sure of your Salvation, not just for time, but for eternity. #Today let Jesus be your foundation, a foundation built with faith and hope, where adversities of life are overcome, where unobtainable goals are attained, and uncommon successes are evident!
