His Praises!

Verse of the Day

I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. [NKJV] Psalm 34:1B

….

The Psalmist said here, I will bless the Lord at all times, and His praises, not complaining; His praises, not voiced out worries; His praises, not testy words; His praises, not angry words; His praises, not blame games; His praises, not grumbling/grumpy words; His praises Will continually be on my lips. If there’s anything I’ve found in this life of mine is God is worth Praising. He has been The One Who can open doors than no man can shut; The One Who can make a way when there is no way in sight. The One that can lift one up even after all has written you off. The One Who loves, when all has deserted you. He is worth praising, and in no time you’ll see all of life’s trials become testimonies of His faithfulness! Now don’t you think it’s time you exchanged your response to life’s challenges with His Praises! Don’t you? It will all work out in the end!

Verse of the Day

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? [NIV] Matthew 6:26

….

Do you know it’s funny how we go about worrying about life’s challenges, yet when we get a minute to sit down, and look out of our windows we see birds chirping away. They don’t have money to buy food, but every day they wake up with a knowledge that they have been provided for out there. When the food seems to run out in one Area/continent they move on to another, because they know there’s food out there J. They don’t have any worry or care. Why? Because in our bible verse for today we are told that, they do not sow, and they do not store away in barns, yet they know that they have been provided for, our heavenly Father always provides for them. But that same God asks us “are we then less valuable than they?” Have you asked yourself that question, How much value do you place on yourself? If you don’t know, I’ll just quickly remind you: God loves you so much that He sent HIs one and only son to come into this world to reconnect us back to Him. That process required Jesus to die on the cross. He died for all of our past sins, and mistakes, our sin was nailed with Him to the cross, was buried with Him, and when He was raised from the dead by God the Father, so did we too, to walk into the new life Jesus died for us to live. That’s how important you are! That’s how precious and important we are to God. If we are that important to Him, why do we let the worries of this life steal our joy and hope on the glorious plans He has for us. Don’t you know how much you’re loved! Don’t you realise your value to God. Next time, you start getting overwhelmed with life’s challenges, think on your value in God’s eyes, and you’ll see that indeed all will work out well in the end! #Verseoftheday #Devotional #Bible #Jesus #TrustingGod #Grace #Past #Mistakes #Worry #Challenges #NotGivingUpInLife

You a New Creation!

Verse of the Day

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. [NKJV] 2 Corinthians 5:17

…..

Isn’t being a new creation a wondrous thing – formed in the mind of God and created by His power and for His glory? In today’s reading we are told what it means to be a new creation and in the preceding verses how we came about it. When we chose to put our faith in Christ Jesus by believing, our old nature was automatically nailed to the cross with Christ. You see when Jesus died on the cross He died for all of our past sins, and mistakes. So that when we put our faith and trust in Him, we’re acknowledging Him as our Lord and Saviour, and the fact that our sin was nailed with Him to the cross, was buried with Him, and when He was raised from the dead by God the Father, so did we too, to walk into the new life Jesus died for us to live – Our new life, us as “new creation”. Of course as believers we can and will still make mistakes, but because of our new nature in Christ, we are no longer slaves to it (as we formerly were), and with the help of God sin will no longer have any power over us (Romans 6:6-7). Now as new creations, we are empowered by and for righteousness, and now have the choice to either let sin rule over our lives or to count ourselves alive to God in Christ Jesus and therefore dead to sin. But most of all, as new creations, we now have the power to choose the latter. Isn’t that glorious! So what would your choice be today? To be alive in Christ as a new creation where you are empowered to live the life you were created to live, or be alive in your old self? The choice is entirely up to you! #Verseoftheday #Devotional #Bible #Jesus #Sin #NewCreation #OldThingsHavePassedAway #AllThingsAreNew #EndlessPossibilities #Grace #Past #Mistakes #ForgettingThePast #ReachingForTheFuture

Forgetting what lies behind!

Verse of the Day

Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, [NKJV] Philippians 3:13

…..

Everyone likes to remember their past! Of course there are many things in our past which are pertinent for our future, have made us what we are today and some can say is a vital part of what we are today. However, there is a reason why our past is our past! In as much as one can recall the joys and victories of the past, our past is also littered with mistakes, failures and painful memories. Someone once said,” to focus on the mistakes and failures of the past brings paralysis of anguish and remorse”. We are encouraged in our today’s Bible reading, that action we need to take in order not to sabotage our future; the need to “Forget what lies behind”. If Jesus through His action, His death on the cross, brought us forgiveness of sins and says to us “Our Past is forgiven”; Who has covered up our past with His love and forgotten the unforgettable in our past lives, don’t we think it’s time we forgot all that lies behind us too? It is only when we’ve chosen to forget, to not let the mistakes of the past hurt us anymore, can we “reach forward to those things which are ahead” of us. Jesus’ redeeming grace that grants perfect peace has freed us from the shackles of our past mistakes! And it is because of that grace can we freely reach for our future, one filled with endless possibilities of fulfilling destinies. Now don’t you think that future is worth reaching for, don’t you think that future is forgetting all the mistakes of the past?? #Verseoftheday #Devotional #Bible #Jesus #EndlessPossibilities #Grace #Past #Mistakes #ForgettingThePast #ReachingForTheFuture

How my spirit rejoices in God my Savior! [NLT] Luke 1:47

….

There are sometimes you think, surely after everything, what I had planned and hoped for, may just never come through. That just maybe, every thought-process and hard work may have all been in vain. (Smiles :)). And then Jesus goes and surprises me, by frustrating the last minute glitches and hiccups, the “unexpected unexpected” 🙂 that tried to sabotage the translation of my dreams to a reality. Oh how my spirit rejoices in God my saviour. Today is a great day to be alive, a glorious day, and a day of destiny. Friends, look outside of your window, see beyond where you are standing, and you will see that every hard work that you’ve put into making your plans a success this year has not been a waste, Jesus our Firm foundation has seen to it. And He will continue to surprise you throughout the rest of the year. It’s time to laugh out loud, count your blessings, and you will indeed be surprised to see what the Lord has done for you thus far. Your song has indeed changed. It’s a song of triumph ringing forth throughout the city, the county, the country and the continents! Hallelujah! Oh how my spirit rejoices in God my saviour!

For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not being merely human? What then is Apollos? What is Paul? [ESV] 1 Corinthians 3:4-5a

………….

We may have much knowledge, yet still be oblivious to what is true. There are so many contentions, people quarrelling and squabbling among themselves; all of which are sad evidences of the state of life in the world we live in. Serving God, the creator of the entire Heaven and Earth is not about defending your faith – or your so called “#religion” – to the world. For indeed with Him there is no such thing as a religion, but instead, it’s all about a relationship which by its very nature is peaceable (not contentious) through which others gets to see His love. In our walk as #Christ-followers (Christians) we ought to make conscious efforts of imbibing His qualities in our daily lives. Of course that will not be easy, especially if there are people always trying to get into a dispute with you or you are the one who likes going around disputing with others :); but the decision to reflect Jesus’ qualities, is a start in that good direction. We were created to follow Christ, no one else, for only He is the true #foundation on which you can build a life worth living. #Any other foundation is an imitation!

He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together. [NLT] Colossians 1:17

When our Lord Jesus Christ came in his human nature, He became the visible discovery of our #invisible God, and a representative of our Father – even though in His invisible form He existed before time began and forever; and that is why we also call Him Ancient of days. All things were created by Him, for him and by his power; they were made according to his pleasure, and for His praise and glory. He not only created them all, but by the WORD of HIS POWER all the things He made were upheld. Now, can you now imagine having Him as your foundation? An ageless, immovable, powerful, faithful, trustworthy God, who came into this world in a visible form, just so that you knew how much He loved you, and how much He was willing to sacrifice His life for you, just so that you can have a wonderful relationship of trust and fellowship with Him? I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t mind banking and building my life on Him as my Rock and my solid foundation!
