Verse of the Day
The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail. [NIV] Isaiah 58:11
I wonder if we all recall what a well watered Garden looks like? Exactly always looking well kept, bright, glorious, making its neighbours wishing theirs was like it. The Lord says He’s going to make you be like this Garden, like a spring that never runs out of water. No matter how hard your day may have been or the struggles, The Lord is reminding you of the glorious hope you have in Him if you don’t give up! Your future is bright, it’s filled with unending testimonies; don’t let your current circumstances make you give up on your glorious future. All is indeed well with all that concerns you. #VerseoftheDay #Bible #Jesus #Devotional #AWellWateredGarden #Hope #HopeOfGlory
For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. [NLT] John 3:16
Thank God We are the objects of God’s special love, and as we continue to be merry this Christmas, let us be truly merry because God the Father loved us so much that He sent His son Jesus Christ to show us the way back to Him. Our Saviour and Lord. We are truly loved, indeed we are truly precious. What manner of love is this?
His government and its peace will never end. He will rule with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David for all eternity. The passionate commitment of the LORD of Heaven’s Armies will make this happen! [NLT] Isaiah 9:7
I absolutely love this time of the year, so grateful to God for this season, a time when we take the time out to celebrate the birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ, whose birth was foretold and whose Kingdom has no limits, and will never end. We thank God for our Lord Jesus Christ and we are forever indebted to Him for the gift of Salvation. I am so grateful for the spread of His gospel, and thankful that I got to hear of this wonderful King who came, so that through His life and death I could be reconciled back to my Father in heaven.
All right then, the Lord himself will give you the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’). [NLT] Isaiah 7:14
There are various kinds of “sign” that God could have given to His people many centuries before the birth of Jesus Christ, but He chose to give them a sign of the virgin birth, a conception process which humanly speaking or otherwise was an impossible process. But it was a sign that regardless of how one tries to disprove it, came to pass two thousand years ago, and which many of us as Christians (and non-Christians) celebrate. Because without His birth, our reconciliation to our Father in heaven would not have been possible. So this season, do all you can to be in great cheer, because Jesus came in human form so that in whatever situation you find yourself in, you should always have that reassurance that you are never alone. Merry Christmas!
Announce this among the nations: Prepare yourselves for war. Wake up the warriors. [GWT] Joel 3:9
We all know how we see ourselves, but I ask you, how do you think Jesus sees you? Now that is the more important question. Because how you see yourself and how God sees you are sometimes never the same. We’re still on the fight of faith, still on the question of “what lens are you looking through”? The truth is certain situations may have made you so weak, that there’s nothing left in you to fight. Aside from being “Chosen”, God adds that He’s made you a remarkable, wonderful, Extraordinary, Amazing, Outstanding, Incredible, Astonishing person [Psalm 139:14], there’s no shame in that. Just because you don’t see it doesn’t mean you’re not it. Now what lens are you looking through? You know that temporary setback, that trial of your patience, those tests of your endurance and that period of adjustments are not permanent problems there to frustrate you. Truth is you’re tired, but that doesn’t mean you can’t muster the strength to fight your fight of faith. Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God is your lens of faith. Ask Him to show you how He views you. Ask Him how He sees you. Ask Him what He sees when He focuses on you. Ask Him, Ask Him, Ask Him what He sees when He looks at you. And believe me, after you’re done asking, you will never again fear any form of defeat in 2014 and in the years to come!
Be strong and let your heart take courage, All you who hope in the LORD. [NASB] Psalm 31:24
It’s almost the end of 2013 – ok two weeks and one day still to go 😀 – And you’ve decided/tried to do a “stock check” of how your year has been. While you’re doing it, you’re also looking across at “Amy’s”, Lorrain’s, Stephen’s, Chuck’s and Jenifer’s list. And after you’ve compared your list, you came to a conclusion that you didn’t do so well. In fact, you’ve decided on the verdict that God has been better to them, than He’s been to you; since during the year, you’ve received no promotion, no pay rise, no change in property, no addition to the family, nothing! In effect, no benefit in being a Christ follower or believing all that about God creating you for a purpose and being a success story. You’ve maybe decided not to listen to any more encouraging word, and “lifeofastranger” can stop already with her pep “status updates” ;). Because all she actually does is to get me all excited only for me to be disappointed 😦
You are not a “robot”, of course you’re allowed to have some of “them days”. But I’m still here to tell you that Jesus Christ is alive, He is the same yesterday, today and forever, and you are NEVER forgotten. So if Lorrain and those around you are doing well. God has blessed them too, but He has not forgotten you. Yes 2013 is almost done, but at least, you were alive to see it, and still here to see it come to an end. That my friend is a wonderful blessing, because without it, the others will be of no use to you. So my dearest, you see, God did bless you in 2013 :)!
But the path of righteous people is like the light of dawn that becomes brighter and brighter until it reaches midday. [GWT] Proverbs 4:18
You are a shining light because of Jesus Christ in you. And because you as a light can never ever fade, you can only glow brighter and brighter, never ever becoming dim, irrespective of what may be thrown at you! No struggle, past mistakes, failure, missed opportunities; disappointments or scandal can ever cause your light to fade away. It is impossible. Keep this at the forefront of your mind. You were born to shine, so don’t let any circumstance tell you otherwise. And because the glory of God is in you, it’s time you took your place as a shining beacon that can never be covered in Jesus name. Amen.
