It’s not over yet!

Verse of the Day

Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God. [NIV]  Psalms 42:11

The weather outside may be a reflection of how you’re feeling on the inside. Maybe you’re feeling out of sorts and still confused about your future. Maybe you’ve received some not so good news which has left you feeling a little low. Don’t let your soul be downcast, don’t let your spirit be disturbed. The Lord Jesus is still aware of all that is happening to you. And in time you’ll see His great plans for you come together to favour and bless you. He is more than able to work things out for you. Cheer up, it’s not all over yet! #Verseoftheday #Devotional #Downcast #Depression

How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! [NLT] Psalm 139:17

It’s impossible to try figuring/numbering the precious, awesome, wonderful, great thoughts God has concerning you. If you were to sit from now till eternity, spending every waking moment trying to understand them, you will wear yourself out, because His thoughts concerning you cannot be fathomed. That’s how important you are to the Lord Jesus. To say you are constantly on His mind is an understatement. Have you been in love before (not the sick feeling 😀 the other one 😀 )that feeling multiply it to infinity, and you’re just barely scratching the surface. You are so precious to God, that He spends all of His time thinking about you. He says He does, and you know He’s not a man that he should lie about it. So any time you feel rejected, dejected, neglected, abandoned, or unloved, remember that the creator of the entire universe loves you to bits. You were born to live a purposeful life filled with His love! Remember that.

I will praise You because I have been remarkably and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, and I know this very well. [HCSB] Psalm 139:14

The Lord says He’s made you remarkable and wonderful! Need I say more? Just in case you’re still in a quandary of what remarkable truly means :D, it means you are: Extraordinary, Amazing, Outstanding, Incredible, Astonishing, And Significant! He says He also made you Brilliant, Magnificent, Superb, a delight and pleasing. So next time, someone tries to define you by “words”/”characters” contrary to what God says concerning you, you should just know that they cannot be talking about you. They can’t! You cannot be remarkable and wonderful, and at the same time be a failure! It’s impossible! A brilliant and extraordinary person cannot be at the same time called a failure. Naa! NO! They can never be the same people. So too, you can NEVER EVER be synonymous with all forms of the definition of failure. You are too extraordinary to fail! Lord Jesus has made you a success, remember that when your mind/others tries to tells you otherwise.

Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. [ESV] Psalm 139:16

During the embryogenesis of you, as your cells divided and replicated to form a ball that later became an embryo that became a foetus that became you, God was there watching, writing out how every day of your life would be even before you were born / lived them. Yes life happened and at worst became so chaotic, that it made you wonder, if indeed God had pre-planned a life of wonderfully fulfilled purposes for you, what happened? The fact that you know now, that the chaotic mess you’ve found yourself in wasn’t in the original plan of the good life that was pre-planned for you by God; you can turn the turmoil to your advantage. Since you know you were not created and purposed to live a life of pain, shame, ruin and disgrace, but a successful life, then don’t let anyone keep beating you down with barrages of negativity. You are not a nonentity, nor are you worthless or useless. Now go and get your life back! You were created for greatness, not mediocrity or ordinariness. Ask the Lord Jesus to help you retrace your steps back to the path He predestined before you were formed to live and He will. Live it well to His glory!

There I will go to the altar of God, to God–the source of all my joy. I will praise you with my harp, O God, my God! [NLT] Psalm 43:4

He has done it before. He will do it again. If you were to look back to where He brought you from, see how far He’s brought you, and how at one point, previously, when you thought you were never ever going to make it, but you did. You will see that these struggles today are of little consequences to God. Why? Because He is more than able to help you through them, to a place where you never thought, even in your wildest dreams that you will ever get to. Go to Him again today and Thank Him. He is faithful, He is awesome, He is wonderful, He’s been a never ending source of Joy to me, and for that Lord I am truly grateful. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Lord Jesus, for all you’ve done for me. My praise Lord will forever and ever be before you, because you have made me glad and have put the joy of Lord in my life. He will do it also for you. Only believe and be thankful.

Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again–rejoice! [NLT] Philippians 4:4

Even in the midst of that struggle, let your heart be full of joy. You may not have much to be glad about, but that single action of “making a decision to be joyful regardless of what may be happening” gives you a better perspective on things. Why? Because you have made a choice to always be glad, you will always see the positive aspect of every negative situation. So maybe Christmas is coming and maybe it’s a season that fills you with so much trepidation, rejoice and be glad. Maybe it’s a lonely time, or simply you don’t have enough to make it as cheerful as you would like it to be, rejoice and be glad. Don’t weary yourself unnecessarily. The Lord Jesus always has a way of making everything beautiful, and everything will work out marvellously in your life in Jesus name. Amen. And so I say it again. Rejoice.

So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you have to endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold–though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. [NLT] 1 Peter 1:6-7a

Your sufferings are there only for a moment. It may not seem so to you now, but it will soon pass. Your future may be uncertain and the afflictions unbearable at times with all hopes lost. But if you can but hold on, you will realise that when your hope is in God, your hope will never be a displaced one. He is a Living God and your hope is a living and a certain hope. You don’t lose anything by hoping in God. Your hope in Him will enliven and comfort you throughout all your distresses and will enable you to meet and get through all those difficulties successfully. There is wonderful joy ahead, if you but only hope in the Lord Jesus. There is joy ahead, NOW that is for certain!
