Say something Nice!

Verse of the Day

Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up. [NLT] Proverbs 12:25

………

We learnt yesterday that a cheerful and lively heart is a wonderful medicine to the body. This therefore means that if you’re not cheerful, say for example, being sad will do your body NO good. A good way in making your heart sad is to let the worries of life get to you. There’s no point in making a problem worse by adding to it a worried heart. Things may not be the way it should be, or the news you expected may not be what you wanted, but that doesn’t mean you should then add to it worry. The bible reminds us that a heavy / anxious / worried heart, will weigh the person down; it is to be expected if you are worried about something which you technically can’t really change by being worried. If there are some news/situations that are keeping you up at night with worry, take it to the Lord Jesus, He says he cares for you, that you should put your burdens on Him. Knowing that Jesus is sorting everything out is enough to gladden your heart again don’t you think? And if you happen to know someone who is struggling with one situation or another which is making them sad, why don’t you try saying an encouraging word to them. And even if you don’t know of anyone, say something nice to someone today, you never know, you may just make their day! #Verseoftheday #Bible #Proverbs #Gladness #Sadness #Worried #Worry #Jesus #Sad #Cheerful #SaySomething #SaySomethingNice

Unexpected News

Verse of the Day

They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the LORD to care for them. [NLT] Psalm 112:7

………

Are you having a bad day? Or did you receive a not so good news today? The word of the Lord reminds us that because you confidently trust the Lord to take care of them, you don’t need to let that news get to you. Indeed this is the blessedness of the righteous. Indeed because you serve a living God, His grace is more than sufficient to comfort you and see you through that unexpected news.  Don’t let that news disturb your peace. Don’t let it worry you. Indeed sooner than later you’ll realise that as devastating as it may be, it will work out for your benefit. Keep calm, Jesus is still in control! #Verseoftheday #unexpectedNews #Bible #Devotional #DevastatingNews #BadNewsDay #Jesus #KeepCalm

Too wonderful to fail you

Verse of the Day

“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. [NLT] John 14:1

…..

There are so many things, even current world news and developments that can greatly depress the mind. Here Jesus encourages and comforts His disciples about the need in trusting God the Father and in Him [Jesus]. The encouragement is also for you. Are there some situations that are seemingly unbearable, Jesus is saying to you Trust in Him! This is the time to exercise your faith in God the Father and in His son Jesus Christ. And because your trust is in them, you will have peace of mind, not just for time, but for eternity. The peace Jesus gives is not like the sort the world gives (He said so in John 14:27), His peace is the best way to be rid of all your heart troubles. And you know that He can be trusted to do exactly what He promised He will do for you. Trust Him! He will never fail you!  #Verseoftheday #Bible #Devotional

Tempting times are common

Verse of the Day

The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure. [NLT] 1 Corinthians 10:13

……

This is such a wonderful encouragement in that it tells you that whatever it is that you’re going through is not uncommon to you. That is to say, whatever struggles, challenges or trials that are making your life unbearable at the moment, can also happen to others. There are others facing also uncertainty with their jobs / business, struggling with one form of financial difficulty or even having marital problems. Your struggles are not just synonymous to you! However, who cares, if it’s happening or can happen to others, what matters is how is affecting you, right? How true is that statement! Indeed problems are an unwelcomed intruder, but when they do come, be encouraged! You must know that the Lord will show you a way out of them all. He will not let them engulf/take your life. There will be victory at the end of it all. Remain encouraged, and keep trusting God. It will definitely work out for you, and that’s all that matters. #Verseoftheday #Bible #Devotional #CommonTemptations

Tears of Joy not sorrow

Verse of the Day

Tears of joy will stream down their faces, and I will lead them home with great care. They will walk beside quiet streams and on smooth paths where they will not stumble. [NLT] Jeremiah 31:9

….

In this bible verse God assures his people that He will AGAIN restore His children to their place of rest. Even though you may be going through difficulties that at times have been so humiliating; brought low to the point where the times in your life when you experienced joy has become a distant memory, God is reminding YOU that YOU will be joyful again, and this time around the tears you’ve shed over those trials will be exchanged instead with tears of joy. How about that! So even though you may have woken up this morning, feeling so underwhelmed to the point that you don’t want to be seen, because of certain situations that is making a mockery of you, the Lord is reminding you this morning that you will hold your head high again, because He will lead you to your place of promotion, where you no longer have to feel humiliation again. Take heart, Jesus cares, and for you He cares an awful lot. You will smile again, and because God said so, He will do exactly what He said! You will experience joy again. You better believe that! #Verseoftheday #Bible #Devotional #TearsofJoy #Jesus

I could not have asked any better

Verse of the Day

At the moment I have all I need–and more! [NLT] Philippians 4:18a

…..

Indeed Lord, You are every lovely word I could conceivably think of. The stories of my life may not be one so easily told, or the journey many would have opted to travel on, but Lord, You made it what it is, and You blessed me unashamedly. Indeed I could not have asked it to be any other way than the way it is. In these moments of my life, Lord Jesus I thank you for the gift of life, and life to see how far and long you’ve taken me. Indeed in these moments of my life, when I remember all the detours, the transiting, and the never ending stop gaps, I am thankful that they were journeys that prepared me for this moment. Lord I have found all I have waited for, and needed, and indeed I could not have asked any better than what you’ve given to me. This has been my testimony, this is my song. Sometimes your life’s journeys may not go as planned, but as long as Jehovah is in it, you will get to your desired destination. Don’t let the detours, delays, derailment and stop gaps bother you. It’s only building your character, and a man/woman of proven character is a person who understands where they are going to; a person whose hope in God can never be shaken, because they know their God will never disappoint them; that their God is more than able to give them much more than they could have ever asked for. Your desired destination is much closer than you know, and your testimony sure, in Jesus name. Amen.
