Verse of the Day
If one person sins against another, God may mediate for the offender; but if anyone sins against the LORD, who will intercede for them?” [NIV] 1 Samuel 2:25a
In the above passage, Eli’s sons had rebelliously/wilfully/defiantly persisted in abusing their priestly office for a very long time (1 Samuel 2:12,17), and the Lord was not happy about this. Even though Eli warned his sons about the severity of their wickedness, they’d been at it for so long that God decided to bring Judgement on them. His judgement on them was His sovereign act of preventing them from heading their father’s warning, which in itself was an act of judgement and was consistent with the wicked characters of the sons. Now, if we were to check our lives, will we find some appalling activities which we’ve been at for so long which we know is so bad that if we were left to continue in them, it would lead to our detriment? Don’t we think it’s time we asked God to step in and help us not to do them again? I pray that may we never persistently/wilfully continue in our inexcusable ways to the point where our actions compels God not help us! #VerseoftheDay #SamuelChallenge
Verse of the Day
“Son of man, can these bones live?” [NIV] Ezekiel 37:3
Do you think, it’s possible for your life to have a turnaround/for you to have a change of status/for that never ending wretched situation that has made you unhappy for many years to come to an end? Maybe you’re experiencing a terrible time in your marriage, place of work and you’ve almost lost your sanity. You’re almost at the door, about to quit it all. Maybe you’ve slumped into years and decades of unhappiness, lack of fruitfulness, and you’ve resided to give up, since well, as far as you’re concerned nothing good is going to come out of your life, since you feel your life is all dried up and have lost hope of ever living a life of fulfilled purposes and dreams. The Lord is asking you a question, He wants you to carefully think about it before answering it. Dearest [you], do you think it’s possible for your life to go from its #dead/non existing state to a vibrant life of visions fulfilled? Quite rightly, just like Ezekiel answered, ONLY God Knows. And that same God is saying to YOU, He will not only bring you up out of that miserable state you’re in, but He will take you back to where you ought to be, renew you (transform your marriage/work whatever it is that’s been bringing you down to something of Joy) and establish you!
But God wants you to do something. He wants you to start speaking favourably/positively into your situations. He wants you declare His words, to declare the name of #Jesus into those situations. The time for your once dreadful state has come to an end and you my friend will LIVE.
Verse of the Day
But on Mount Zion will be deliverance; it will be holy, and Jacob will possess his inheritance. [NIV] Obadiah 1:17
Maybe someone around you may have dishonoured / violated / desecrated you in one way or another, leaving you with a feeling of shame / disgrace / humiliation. The Lord says there will be judgement. And while He is judging what transpired, He will deliver/restore you back to your rightful place. You will not only regain and take back all that belongs to you which you may have lost, but He will also make you holy / blessed / righteous. So even though you may have fallen on account of abuse at the hands of others, you will rise again, and even though all you may be seeing now is darkness, the Lord says He will be your light (Micah 7:18). Look unto Jesus, and all the grime that once clouded your once gorgeous life, will be wiped clean. He will help you see clearly into your wonderfully glorious future. You’re not written off yet! Your best days are on their way!
