I could not have asked any better

Verse of the Day

At the moment I have all I need–and more! [NLT] Philippians 4:18a

Indeed Lord, You are every lovely word I could conceivably think of. The stories of my life may not be one so easily told, or the journey many would have opted to travel on, but Lord, You made it what it is, and You blessed me unashamedly. Indeed I could not have asked it to be any other way than the way it is. In these moments of my life, Lord Jesus I thank you for the gift of life, and life to see how far and long you’ve taken me. Indeed in these moments of my life, when I remember all the detours, the transiting, and the never ending stop gaps, I am thankful that they were journeys that prepared me for this moment. Lord I have found all I have waited for, and needed, and indeed I could not have asked any better than what you’ve given to me. This has been my testimony, this is my song. Sometimes your life’s journeys may not go as planned, but as long as Jehovah is in it, you will get to your desired destination. Don’t let the detours, delays, derailment and stop gaps bother you. It’s only building your character, and a man/woman of proven character is a person who understands where they are going to; a person whose hope in God can never be shaken, because they know their God will never disappoint them; that their God is more than able to give them much more than they could have ever asked for. Your desired destination is much closer than you know, and your testimony sure, in Jesus name. Amen.

A debt that can never be paid in full

Verse of the Day

For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes–the Jew first and also the Gentile. [NLT] Romans 1:16

As Christians who have found what it means to know Christ (the riches of Christ) we indeed have a debt to pay, a debt to seek out and share those riches with others. Yes this Good News concerning our Lord Jesus Christ may be considered foolishness by the people around us, so many of us have edited/adapted the message, ending up speaking a different message. We have become ashamed of this good news and have lost confidence in the power of the message to transform the lives of those who hear and receive it. We declare that ‘God is love’ but we shy away from warning of God’s wrath against ungodliness, because we don’t want to be perceived as judgemental. After all, no one is perfect. We speak about the joy of following Christ, but we do not tell people the cost – the trials of many kinds and how we’re viewed by the people around us and society – of following Christ. But we must tell the truth, the whole truth about this wonderful news of our Lord Christ Jesus. This good news that Jesus Christ died to pay the penalty for our sin – so that we might be reconciled with our Father in Heaven through faith alone in Christ – and He is alive. This good news which is the power of God at work is more than able to save everyone who believes. Yes many may find it difficult to believe, but we owe it to them to tell it as it is. We owe it to them to tell the truth about God. We owe it to them to share with them this glorious news about our Lord Jesus Christ. It’s a debt we can never pay in full.
