Verse of the Day

Yes, you who trust him recognize the honour God has given him. But for those who reject him, “The stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.” [NLT] 1 Peter 2:7

….

It’s doesn’t matter if you have a negative view or perception of whom you think Jesus is. It doesn’t matter if you don’t think He is whom we claim Him to be. It doesn’t take away the fact that Jesus is whom God said He is. It doesn’t change the fact that God appointed Him and gave Him a name above every other name; and has been given an honour of innumerable value. It doesn’t matter if you choose not to accept Him. You may think Him less than who He is, rejected, insulted and swore with His name. But it doesn’t stop the fact that God has made Him the Chief Stone from which we can only shape our lives. Rejecting Him, doesn’t take away the honour glory that describes who He is, rejecting Him affects only you. Question is, have you thought about what it would mean to your life to have Him as the Chief Stone on which the structure of your life is built upon? If you don’t choose Him, it’s no sweat off His book. Of-course He loves you and is there cheering you on to make the right choice, and will be saddened to see you go, but you choosing Him is of greater benefit to you, not Him. But then again, only you can answer that question, no one else! The fact is Jesus is, and will forever be the Cornerstone, your decision not to accept that doesn’t negate that fact! #PeterChallenge #VerseoftheDay

Verse of the Day

For it is contained in Scripture: Look! I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and honoured cornerstone, and the one who believes in Him will never be put to shame! [HCSB] 1 Peter 2:6

……

Your foundation is so important. Ancient elements of Jewish tradition considered the cornerstone to be a special stone in the temple and as a title for the Messiah. Now, God declared in Isaiah 28:16 that He placed a stone in Zion, a chosen and honoured cornerstone, and here Peter identified #Jesus as not only that stone mentioned in Isaiah, appointed by God, but also as the most honoured/precious/valued #cornerstone; the Chief Stone from whom the whole structure takes its shape. How about that? The shape of your life is determined by the cornerstone you’re built upon! One doesn’t need to be a rocket scientist to figure out that a stone of value, of greater worth, of strong excellent characterises will help a building stand the test of time. A cornerstone can’t just be any ordinary stone; it has to be quite extra-ordinary. Question is the cornerstone shaping your life, what kind of stone is it? How is it shaping your life? Still confused? Are you ready to try making Jesus, the tried and tested Chief stone your Cornerstone? #PeterChallenge #Verseoftheday

Verse of the Day

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, [NIV] 1 Peter 1:3

….

If #Christ had not been raised from the dead, then our glorious hope, our confidence which comes from His resurrection would have been futile. Our faith would have been in vain and we would have been the most pitied people on earth. But Jesus Christ did rise from the dead, and He is alive forevermore. And in this we greatly rejoice. Indeed, in spite of the trials, the sufferings and adversities, we refuse to let life’s worries choke the living hope and faith we have in Christ Jesus, which is worth much more than any monetary value. Thank you Heavenly Father for your mercy, Thank you Lord for Jesus. I shudder to think what my life would have been without my risen King, Lord and saviour Jesus Christ! #Verseoftheday #PeterChallenge #HeIsNotDeadHeIsAlive #JesusLives #HeIsAliveForeverMore

Verse of the Day

God the Father knew you and chose you long ago, and his Spirit has made you holy. As a result, you have obeyed him and have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. May God give you more and more grace and peace. [NLT] 1 Peter 1:2

….

Isn’t it wonderful to know that before we existed, we were loved, cherished and loved, and as a consequence of all the aforementioned, we were chosen? And because He chose us, God made us Holy (regardless of how bad things were in our lives) through His Holy Spirit. And because of the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives, we were transformed into children who are obedient to the WORD of God, and most importantly our lives now have meaning because we have been cleansed by the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Isn’t all this knowledge wonderful to your soul? I don’t think I could have lived a life where nothing made sense, a life devoid of purpose, a life devoid of Christ. Thank you Lord for Jesus! Thank you God for the Holy Spirit! That you Lord for your grace and peace without which I probably would have given up on life a long time ago! The Knowledge of your love for me gives me hope, gives me assurance, gives me a certainty that my life is worth living!  Hallelujah, may your name be praised forever more. #Verseoftheday #PeterChallenge
