A disappointment too many!

Verse of the Day

My soul melts from heaviness; Strengthen me according to Your word. [NKJV] Psalm 119:28

…..

Your plans may have been overturned; you may be going through all manner of grief and disappointments at the thought of what you’ve lost. The idea, the dream! You may be thinking that all your work may have all been in vain, a wasted effort, and may be tempted to quit since you feel you’ve lost your way. You’re probably wondering how much more of this can you take. How much more can you continue to press on without seeing results? Today we are encouraged not to give in to such temptations; not to let the set-backs be a stumbling block on our way to that desired destination. You may have lost your way, but God has not lost His plans and desires for you. God always has a way of allowing our own plans to be broken so that we with Him can build bigger and better ones. Don’t be disillusioned, He is shaping and moulding you in fulfilment of His design and purpose for your lives”. He is still at work, when it seems all else if failing. He has not left you, regardless of how lost you may be. You will find in the end, that your overturned plan was a stepping to stone to propel you into your completed vision. Keep pressing on! #Devotional #VerseoftheDay #Truth #God #Bible #Plans #Purpose #God #Disappointments

It all starts with a Choice!

Verse of the Day

He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry and save them. [NKJV] Psalm 145:19

……

You can choose to focus on your life’s purposes, or you can focus on your problems. The choice is entirely left to you. But if I must add, if you choose to focus on your problems, know for certain that you end up losing sight of the bigger picture which you have a huge part to play in. You lose sight of the goal, which in itself could actually cost you your life worth. However, the moment you choose to regain your vision, your focus by steering away from the problems, and looking unto your maker, God, creator of the heavens and Earth, it’s almost as if the problem no longer seems as threatening as it/they once were. Removing your focus from the problems is not going to be easy, that is why it has to be a choice, only you can make. And if you’re still struggling with that decision, you may need to ask yourself some questions? Will you be driven by life’s pressures, guilt, disappointments, bitterness, frustration and materialism? Or will you let your life be driven by God’s purposes. Again the choice rests only with you. God’s word says when you choose to let your life’s decisions be driven by Him; He will fulfil the desires of your hearts. Isn’t that worth knowing? And you know He does exactly what He says. Yes the answer to that much needed relief may be taking a little while, but don’t let that distract your focus. He will make your life beautiful, after all, that it what He created you for, to display His GLORY, to display the wonders of His presence! You are wonder, you better believe that! Hallelujah Praise His name forever. #Verseoftheday #Bible #Devotional #Jesus #Purpose #Desire #God #Jesus #Glory #Presence #Beauty

The Purpose of Life

Verse of the Day

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. [NIV] Micah 6:8

……

In an interview by Paul Bradshaw with Rick Warren, Rick said: People ask me, what is the purpose of life? And I respond: In a nutshell, life is preparation for eternity. We were not made to last forever, and God wants us to be with Him in Heaven. One day my heart is going to stop, and that will be the end of my body– but not the end of me. I may live 60 to 100 years on earth, but I am going to spend trillions of years in eternity. This is the warm-up act – the dress rehearsal. God wants us to practice on earth what we will do forever in eternity. We were made by God and for God, and until you figure that out, life isn’t going to make sense. My prayer today is that for those who still haven’t figured out their life’s purpose that the Spirit of God will reveal Himself to them speedily in Jesus name. #Devotional #Verseoftheday #Bible #PurposeOfLife

It was given for a reason

Verse of the Day

For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, [NIV] 2 Timothy 1:6a

…..

Today I was reminded on the importance of not giving up on the dreams you’ve had for so long that appears to be taking forever to come to reality. The Lord gave it to you for a reason. Regardless of how long it may be taking to come to pass, refuse to give in to defeat. Remember, God has not given you the spirit of fear; He has given you the spirit of power, of courage and resolution, to meet difficulties and to meet uncertainties. He has given you the spirit of love, to carry you through opposition, spirit of a sound mind, of quietness of mind not to be moved by what you see. So what if the dream tarries, the Lord has said it will come to pass and in the end what He has said concerning you and me is all that matters. Stay focused, stay strong, Jesus is still in control. #Verseoftheday #Bible #Devotional #NotGivingUp #Dream #Vision #Focus #Purpose #Jesus #God

Devotional 08.04.2014

Verse of the Day

God the Father knew you and chose you long ago, and his Spirit has made you holy. As a result, you have obeyed him and have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. May God give you more and more grace and peace. [NLT] 1 Peter 1:2

….

Isn’t it wonderful to know that before we existed, we were loved, cherished and loved, and as a consequence of all the aforementioned, we were chosen? And because He chose us, God made us Holy (regardless of how bad things were in our lives) through His Holy Spirit. And because of the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives, we were transformed into children who are obedient to the WORD of God, and most importantly our lives now have meaning because we have been cleansed by the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Isn’t all this knowledge wonderful to your soul? I don’t think I could have lived a life where nothing made sense, a life devoid of purpose, a life devoid of Christ. Thank you Lord for Jesus! Thank you God for the Holy Spirit! That you Lord for your grace and peace without which I probably would have given up on life a long time ago! The Knowledge of your love for me gives me hope, gives me assurance, gives me a certainty that my life is worth living!  Hallelujah, may your name be praised forever more. #Verseoftheday #PeterChallenge

Devotional 11.02.2014

“Don’t be afraid!” Elisha told him. “For there are more on our side than on theirs!” [NLT] 2 Kings 6:16

….

Try not to be afraid! That obstinate obstacle has no support or real backing. You my friend have so much more going for you; you have the Love of Christ, His plans, purpose, vision and power on your side. And with that you will reign victorious over every challenge that tries to sabotage your progress into your fulfilment of your plans this year. Trust me, God is bigger than any challenge that you may be facing or will ever face on your way to your promised land. He is much more in control than you will ever know or realise. So keep pressing on. The goal is worth the labour, and it will never be in vain!

Devotional 13.12.2013

As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things. [NIV] Ecclesiastes 11:5

There’s no point in trying to understand what might be happening around you, or rather why certain things happen/are happening to you, such as the momentary setback, the great deal of work/goals that still need to be attained. But rather focus on the fact that God the maker of all things, whose ways can never be understood, has told you He has great thoughts/plans for you, that means you do have a good and glorious future and everything will work out GREAT. Whatever you may be going through is only a glitch in God’s plan for you, but it won’t stop you from getting to your glorious destiny. You were created for a good purpose and that’s all that matters!
