Why be concerned about these things!

Verse of the Day

Everyone is concerned about these things, and your heavenly Father certainly knows you need all of them. [GWT] Matthew 6:32

What were the “These things” Jesus was talking about in today’s bible verse? He had told us about them in the previous verses: “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? (Matthew 6:24; 27). And that is the truth! Has worry ever solved anyone’s problem? No seriously, that is one question we need to ask ourselves whenever we start filling our minds with worry. Worry doesn’t make the situation go away; rather it makes it worse by making one ill! Period! But today we are encouraged! Yes things may be falling out of place all around us; yes, things are just not working as you expected they should! But we are encouraged! We are reminded today why we don’t need to worry, because our Heavenly Father is on the case! He knows all that is happening to us and He will take care of them all. Don’t let that anxious thought/situation take over your life. The Lord is on the case, He’s very much aware of it all, and He says He will take care of you! #Verseoftheday #Devotional #Bible #Jesus #Worry #WhyWorry #Anxiety #AnxiousThoughts #Anxious #God

His Praises!

Verse of the Day

I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. [NKJV] Psalm 34:1B

The Psalmist said here, I will bless the Lord at all times, and His praises, not complaining; His praises, not voiced out worries; His praises, not testy words; His praises, not angry words; His praises, not blame games; His praises, not grumbling/grumpy words; His praises Will continually be on my lips. If there’s anything I’ve found in this life of mine is God is worth Praising. He has been The One Who can open doors than no man can shut; The One Who can make a way when there is no way in sight. The One that can lift one up even after all has written you off. The One Who loves, when all has deserted you. He is worth praising, and in no time you’ll see all of life’s trials become testimonies of His faithfulness! Now don’t you think it’s time you exchanged your response to life’s challenges with His Praises! Don’t you? It will all work out in the end!

Verse of the Day

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? [NIV] Matthew 6:26

Do you know it’s funny how we go about worrying about life’s challenges, yet when we get a minute to sit down, and look out of our windows we see birds chirping away. They don’t have money to buy food, but every day they wake up with a knowledge that they have been provided for out there. When the food seems to run out in one Area/continent they move on to another, because they know there’s food out there J. They don’t have any worry or care. Why? Because in our bible verse for today we are told that, they do not sow, and they do not store away in barns, yet they know that they have been provided for, our heavenly Father always provides for them. But that same God asks us “are we then less valuable than they?” Have you asked yourself that question, How much value do you place on yourself? If you don’t know, I’ll just quickly remind you: God loves you so much that He sent HIs one and only son to come into this world to reconnect us back to Him. That process required Jesus to die on the cross. He died for all of our past sins, and mistakes, our sin was nailed with Him to the cross, was buried with Him, and when He was raised from the dead by God the Father, so did we too, to walk into the new life Jesus died for us to live. That’s how important you are! That’s how precious and important we are to God. If we are that important to Him, why do we let the worries of this life steal our joy and hope on the glorious plans He has for us. Don’t you know how much you’re loved! Don’t you realise your value to God. Next time, you start getting overwhelmed with life’s challenges, think on your value in God’s eyes, and you’ll see that indeed all will work out well in the end! #Verseoftheday #Devotional #Bible #Jesus #TrustingGod #Grace #Past #Mistakes #Worry #Challenges #NotGivingUpInLife

Say something Nice!

Verse of the Day

Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up. [NLT] Proverbs 12:25

We learnt yesterday that a cheerful and lively heart is a wonderful medicine to the body. This therefore means that if you’re not cheerful, say for example, being sad will do your body NO good. A good way in making your heart sad is to let the worries of life get to you. There’s no point in making a problem worse by adding to it a worried heart. Things may not be the way it should be, or the news you expected may not be what you wanted, but that doesn’t mean you should then add to it worry. The bible reminds us that a heavy / anxious / worried heart, will weigh the person down; it is to be expected if you are worried about something which you technically can’t really change by being worried. If there are some news/situations that are keeping you up at night with worry, take it to the Lord Jesus, He says he cares for you, that you should put your burdens on Him. Knowing that Jesus is sorting everything out is enough to gladden your heart again don’t you think? And if you happen to know someone who is struggling with one situation or another which is making them sad, why don’t you try saying an encouraging word to them. And even if you don’t know of anyone, say something nice to someone today, you never know, you may just make their day! #Verseoftheday #Bible #Proverbs #Gladness #Sadness #Worried #Worry #Jesus #Sad #Cheerful #SaySomething #SaySomethingNice
